Japanese invaders who were unyielding since the end of the Goryeo constantly appeared even in the 15th century when was going back to stability after overcome the confusion of the former dynasty. Therefore, the foundation of the relationship of Goryeo and Japan was to stop the intrusion at the beginning.
Researches on these Japanese invaders are mostly about the outbreak and base of Japanese invaders, and about the end of Goryeo as the golden peak of Japanese invaders. Relatively speaking, the studies about territory changes by the Japanese invaders and the actual conditions in the early Joseon are relatively little as most studies are focused on diplomatic study which is focus on friendship andmilitary system changes as countermeasures for Japanese invaders and study which is dealing Japanese invaders in Deamado invasion, Eulmyo invasion in 1555, and Sampo invasion in 1510.
Thus, in this study the territorialperiodic changes by Japanese invaders in the early Joseon are studied and also the causes by classifying the bedding damage by the Japanese invaders among this process.
At the end of Gorye, the Japanese invasions areas were mostly the west and south coast of Koreawhich is the location of grain warehouse and the transfer of ships because of the plunder of cargo vessel and warehouse. And at the end of the King U of Gorye, the invasion areas change to North Gyeongsang Province east coast because of the huge subdue at the west and south coast, and the transfer grain warehouse into inland as well as change Jeolla-do marine transportation to inland.
This Japanese invasions since the invasions at the end of Gorye continued to the East Coast, North Gyeongsang Province in the King Taejo’s period when the Joseon was established.
Thereupon, Joseon rose the army list gradually, dried or repaired the warship, dispatched ambassadors to Japan´´s feudal government general as well as Gujujeoldosa, Daenaejeon, the lord of Deamado, and Iljido, etc. and demanded the invasion prohibition and return the captives for the flexible diplomacy. Also appeasement policies for Japanese invaders were run, so divided them to outside of the country such as the coastal and mountainous.
These measures brought the result of reducing Japanese intrusions got together with control strengthening in the island by the lord of Deamado who lived in Jikujenju, opening of Busanpo and Jepoui in 1407. Therefore the small-scaled Japanese invaders changed the intrusion area to island in the west and south coastwhere is available to invade because of the small residents.
After that, the Japanese invaders who got hit by Deamado conquer showed intermittent intrusion and disappeared from Treaty of Gyehae.
Meanwhile, the Japanese intrusion damage can be divided into physical damage and human damage, physical damage into pillage and burn the material, and human damage into the abduction and killing. Physical damage changed from the previous ricepillage to get properties such as food and goods, so the salt which was expensive item became the object of pillage for selling and in the case of the hijacked ship was also a considerable percentage. And kidnapping took huge percentage because of economic interests by use and trade the slaves, and profits obtained by the returnee among the human damage, and negotiating for the hostage was also for the direct and indirect profits.
On the other hand, as the unthrifty damage, incendiary was done for ease decampment because of the small-scale sudden attack. And killing were killingthe warrior during the battle and the civil one and it can be guessed that the opposed people were killed as it is involved in the kidnapping, or those who were not subject to make a big profits through the selling among the civil killing.
As above, the Japanese invaders in the early Joseon changed the intrusion area according to the organic relation between Joseon and Japan, gave a various intrusion area unlike to previous Gorye era. Because of these points, the researches about the early Japanese invaders should be studied case by case.
