This study was performed to investigate the association with practice of health promoting lifestyle and its related factors of some public officers in Gwang-Ju Metropolitan city.
We enrolled 500 public officers who worked in Gwang- Ju Metropolitan city hall by random sampling and 419 cases were analyzed The collection of data was done by self-administered questionnaire which composed of the general characteristics, the occupational characteristics, health related activity, stress, self-efficacy and the Health Promoting Lifestyle Profiles(HPLP). We analysed the data by t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multivariate regression analysis.
Results were as follows
1) The study subjects was composed of three hundred twenty five men(77.6%) and ninety four women(22.4%).
2) The mean score of HPLP was shown the men with 105.9±17.8 and women 104.7±17.0. The average mark showed men and women all with 2.2 mark.
3) In univariate analysis, the related factors with HPLP were marital status, business career, self-cognited health status, age, body mass index, stress and self-efficacy.
4) In multivariate regression analysis, the statistically significant related factors with HPLP showed business career, self-cognited health status, and self-efficacy. And sex, marital status, body mass index and stress were not statistically significant.
We concluded that the health promoting activities were related with the longer duration of working, good subjective consciousness about their health status and high degree of self-efficacy.
