독거여성노인의 행복감 경험

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is a phenomenological study that aims to gain in-depth and detailed understanding of the sense of the happiness experienced by the elderly women living alone. Data was collected by carrying out in-depth interviews with seven participants and by recording them. As for the data analysis, Colaizzi(1978)’s analysis method. The study shows that the theme of the aged women living alone’s experience with sense of happiness was denominated as, ‘sense of happiness from the life of independence while emptying everything’. Besides the difficulty of carrying out the tasks required for everyday life, these aged women living alone were experiencing physical, psychological, interpersonal and family related difficulties as well, but they were also experiencing happiness at the same time. Moreover, their satisfaction towards life and sense of happiness were higher for the past instead of the present life. Meanwhile, they were trying hard to embrace life as it is today, and to try to develop it in a positive manner. These results are very significant in the sense that it presents a comprehensive picture that includes positive sense of happiness, not only the negative experience of the aged women living alone in Korea. The above mentioned research results demonstrate that it is necessary to pay attention the psychosocial domain besides physical nursing that increases sense of happiness when it comes to the senior citizen nursing domain that targets aged women living alone. To increase the happiness of the aged women living alone, it may be necessary to develop integrated nursing mediation program and to expand the national level senior citizen care taking service.
