대학생의 진로결정상태 유형화 및 특징 탐색 = The Subtypes of College students’ Career Decision Status

The purpose of this study is to investigate subtypes of career decision status for 586 of college students, and searching the relationship of other career decision status classifications of prior researches. For this purpose, vocational identity, self-esteem, lack of needs about career decision, trait anxiety, external control, and contextual career barrier were selected as the dependent variables. To classify sub-types of career decision status according to six dependent variables, Latent Profile Analysis(LPA) was conducted on both career decision makers and non career decision makers respectively, and the career decision types and non career decision types were classified. Each subtypes are named following their characters such as; ‘decided-need confidence’, ‘decided-confidence’, ‘decided-avoidance’, ‘undecided-ready’, ‘undecided-deferred’, ‘undecided-confused’. Six subtypes of career decision status had significant differences between the dependent variables, and four sub-factors of CDP's reasons predicted membership of latent classes of career decision status. Also, we explored the relationship between subtypes of our study and another four subtypes of career decision status that were based the three-dimensional model of vocational decision status proposed by Jones and Chenery(1980). The result was that ‘decided-confidence’ and ‘decided-avoidance’ were similar to ‘decided-comfort’, and ‘decided-need confidence’ was similar to ‘decided-uncomforted’. but, relationships among the subtypes of ‘undecided’ were not clear. More concrete implications and limitations of the study and suggestions for following researches were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 586명의 대학생을 대상으로 하여 진로결정상태의 하위유형을 탐색하고 그 특징을 파악할 뿐 아니라 기존의 다른 진로결정상태 분류체계와의 관련성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 진로정체감, 자아존중감, 진로결정 필요성 인식 부족, 특성불안, 외적 통제소재, 맥락적 진로장벽을 준거변인으로 선정하였다. 6가지 준거변인에 따라 진로결정상태의 하위유형을 분류하기 위해 진로결정자와 진로미결정자 각각을 대상으로 잠재프로파일분석(LPA)을 실시하여, 진로결정유형과 진로미결정유형을 분류하였다. 결과, 진로결정자집단의 하위유형은 3가지로 분류되었으며, 진로미결정자집단의 하위유형 또한 3가지로 분류되었다. 각 유형들은 그 특성에 따라 ‘결정-확신필요형’, ‘결정-확신형’, ‘결정-회피형’, ‘미결정-준비형’, ‘미결정-유예형’, ‘미결정-혼란형’으로 명명되었다. 6가지 진로결정상태 하위유형은 준거변인들에서 모두 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 미결정 이유 중 4가지 하위요인들이 진로결정상태 잠재계층의 소속을 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. Jones와 Chenery(1980)의 삼차원적 진로결정상태모형을 기반으로 분류한 4가지 진로결정상태와 본 연구에서 분류된 하위유형 간의 관계를 살펴본 결과 결정-확신형과 결정-회피형의 경우는 결정-편안과 유사하였으며, 결정-확신필요형의 경우는 결정-불편과 유사하였다. 하지만, 미결정 유형들 간의 관계는 명확하게 드러나지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 구체적인 시사점과 제한점, 후속연구를 위한 제언은 본문에 서술하였다.
