한국 가톨릭 고등학교의 종교 교과용 도서의 실태와 개선방안 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 가톨릭 고등학교에서 사용하고 있는 종교 교과용 도서의 현황과 실태를 파악하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해서 가톨릭 고등학교에서 종교 교과용 도서(이하 종교 교과서)의 사용 실태를 파악하고, 문제점을 도출하여 가톨릭 고등학교에서의 종교교육 목표에 맞추어서 종교 교과서가 나아가야 할 방향성이 무엇인지에 대하여 조사 및 분석을 하였다.
본 연구는 조사연구로서 전국 36개 남․여 가톨릭 고등학교의 종교교사 36명을 대상으로 설문지를 사용하여 이루어졌다. 자료의 분석을 위해서 PASW Statistics를 이용하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같다.
대다수의 종교교사들이 수업시간에 교과서 사용여부에 대한 질문에 사용하지 않는다는 부정적인 답이 도출되어 교과서에 대한 만족도를 종교교사들에게 질문을 하였다. 만족도를 살펴본 결과 약 70%정도의 교사들이 불만족을 표출하였고, 그 이유로는 교과서 내용이 어렵고, 흥미를 유발하지 못하며, 내용이 현실을 반영하지 못하고, 그 구성이 체계적이기 못하기 때문이라고 답을 하고 있다. 이 같은 결과는 가톨릭학교가 시대의 변화에 따른 요구를 수용하지 못하고 있음을 나타낸다.
이에 종교교사들은 종교 교과서의 활용도를 위한 방법으로 교과서 내용이 학생의 흥미를 유발하고, 모든 학생들이 쉽게 접근 할 수 있는 내용을 담은 체계적인 교과서의 개정이 주기적으로 필요하다고 말한다.
따라서 기존의 종교 교과서보다 학생들과 교사들이 쉽게 다가갈 수 있게 난이도를 낮춘 교과서가 필요하다. 또한 종교교육의 목적과 흥미를 포함한 체계적인 교과서가 주기적으로 개정되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims at analyzing religious textbooks used in Korean catholic high school and suggesting ways of improving level of the textbooks. In order to achieve that object, this study investigated how the religious textbooks are used in most of the Korean catholic high schools, and researched into the direction for the textbooks to go with the goal of religious education.
This study was based on the survey from 36 religious teachers of catholic high schools nationwide. I used the program called "PASW Statistics" in order to analyze the collected data. And the results are as followings.
Most of the religious teachers have not practically used the religious textbooks due to a negative view of them. According to the data, especially around 70 percentage of all of the religious teachers surveyed expressed unsatisfaction toward the current textbooks because they thought that the textbooks are too difficult to study, lack factors of interesting contents, don't reflect fast-moving various trend of present society, and lastly are very unsystematic. The result like this represents that catholic schools might not accommodate the demands of the times.
To increase the frequency of the effective use of religious textbooks, religious teachers suggest that textbooks should be well organized for students to get motivation, and that systematic revision periodically is required for students to access religious books easily.
Therefore, we need a religious book which contains a lowered level of difficulty than current books. Because, the job of revising the textbooks which consist of interesting religious objectives is one of the most important things for us to do for the effective religious education.
