오늘날의 대다수 사람들은 ‘교육’이라는 것이 중대한 과제라는 인식을 가지고 있다. 그 과제의 내용에는 차이가 있을지언정 이러한 인식은 전세계적으로 존재하고 있다.
우리나라의 교육의 이념 및 가치를 보면 진·선·미를 중심으로 신체적, 정서적, 사회적 그리고 지적발달이 고루 요구되어 조화로운 발전으로 학생들을 배양하고자 하는데 그 교육적 목적을 두고 있다 할 수 있다. 그 중에서도 무용교육은 이러한 교육목적을 달성하기 위한 교육중의 하나라고 볼 수 있다.
그러나 오늘날 무요이 교육으로서 활동되어지고 교육의 효과로서 얻어지는 교육적 가치는 결코 만족할 만하지 않다. 그것은 무용이 초·중·고등 교육과정에서부터 체육교과의 한단원으로 통합되어져서 무용의 교육적 기능이 전혀 고려되지 않는다는데 있다.
이에 본 연구자는 우리나라 학생들에게 미칠 정서적인 교육 부분의 절름발이식 공교육 현상을 짐작 해 보며, 무용이 가져다 줄 많은 긍정적인 교육효과를 주지해 보면서 무용이 더 나은· 교육의 장에 포함 될 수 있는 노력이 필요하다 생각되어져 본 논문의 주제를 설정하여 연구하였다.
또한 본 논문에서는 제1차～제7차 무용 교과과정의 변화를 먼저 살펴보고, 제1차 체육교과과정에서 현재에 이르기까지의 제7차 체육교과과정의 개혁을 통해 무용이 체육 교육의 수단으로 교육되어짐으로써 발생되는 학교무용교육의 근본적인 문제점을 발견하고 그에 대한 올바른 개선방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다.
이에 본 연구자는 제1차～제7차 무용교과과정을 살펴본 문제점을 다음과 같이 보았다.
첫째, 무용이 7차교과과정까지 오는데에도 독립교과로서 인정받지 못했다.
둘째, 교육방법론에 있어서 전 근대적 교육방법을 쓰고 있다.
셋째, 무용수업을 할 수 있는 공간과 시청작 교재가 부족하다.
넷째, 적절한 무용교육 프로그램이 부족하다.
다섯째, 아직도 무용교사가 아닌 체육교사 자격증으로 인정이 된다.
여섯째, 무용이 교육적의미로서의 사회인식이 부족하다.
이에대한 개선방안을 제시하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 무용이 가지는 교육적인 가치를 인정하여 체육과는 다른 독립교과로서 자리를 잡아야 한다.
둘째, 교육방법에 있어서 전근대적인 방법이 아닌 시대 흐름에 맞추어 청소년들의 흥미를 유발할 수 있는, 즉 TV속에 나오는 유행하는 춤이나, 힙합, 째즈, 스포츠 댄스 등의 무용교육 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.
셋째, 사회교육의 기본 단위인 학교에서부터 무용교육이 시작되어 학교 내에서 무용클럽활동, 무용공연의 정기적 관람, 무용단초청공연, 무용교육과 관련된 TV프로그램과 비디오 시청등 무용을 많이 접할 수 있도록 하여 사회로 대중화를 만들 필요성이 있다.
넷째, 무용수업을 할 수 있는 공간과 시청각 교재는 정부의 행정적인 지원이 요청된다.
다섯째, 체육교사 자격증이 아닌 무용교사 자격증으로 인정받아야 한다.

ABSTRACT

Issues and Improvement of Curriculum of High School Observed through First to Seven Teaching Practical.

Today, many people be aware of "Education" as a problem awaiting solution to be solved. The problem to be solved would be different by country but it does exist throughout the world.
The idea and value of education of Korea is based on truth, goodness and beauty that develop the students physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. The dance is one of the education to achieve the idea and value.
However, now a day the dance has not been actively practiced as an education that could expect some educational influences. Due to the fact that the dance is part of curriculum of physical training for the elementary, middle school, and high school, the educational functions of dance is not considered.
Therefore, we should give consideration on the current incongruous education system, and should pay due regard to the positive effects that a systematic education of dance will bring to the country, which will be the main subject of this thesis.
This thesis will go over the change of 1st to 7th dance curriculum. It will reveal the problems which are caused by the current incongruous education system, and discuss the betterment plans for those problems.
The followings are the problem, which was discovered during the 1st to 7th dance curriculum, that will be discussed in this study.
First, the dance has never been independent curriculum, which always belongs to part of physical training.
Second, a methodology of education is premodern.
Third, a classroom and audio vidual aids are not enough for training.
Forth, there are not enough program for the dance class.
Fifth, a gymnastic teacher certificate is required to teach dance, no specialized certificate is required for dance.
Sixth, people do not aware of dance as an part of independent education curriculum.
The betterment plans for the problems suggested above are as follows;
First, the educational value of dance should be recognized that dance is separated from gymnastic curriculum.
Second, the education methodology needs to be updated that choose programs which get students interested in such as hip-hap, jazz, sports dance, and so on.
Third, creating a dance club, viewing performance, inviting dancing teams, watching TV or video which related to the education will be the way to popularize the education of dance and it should start at schools which is a basic element of social education for students,
Forth, we need to have a support from the government for classroom for practice and audiovisual aids.
Fifth, there should be a specialized license to teach dance other than gymnastic license.
