청소년기 제도적 사회자본 형성과 청소년 시민성 개발: 공공성을 중심으로 = Formation of institutional social capital and development of citizenry during adolescence: Centered on the publicness

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research sought to examine the correlation between the institutional social capital and citizenry development during the adolescence period centered on the publicness. Unlike the relational social capital centered on blood or regional ties, members are encouraged to get involved with recommended actions when it comes to the institutional social capital that can be formed by participating in the official and open groups. As such, efficiency of the society’s structure is increased. At the same time, all types of negative incidents that take place in a society are improved. Thus, the members are expected to play an important role in growing as a citizens’ society desired by our society. At this time, publicness is the factor that applies jointly for the formation of the institutional social capital and for the citizenry development. Publicness can be defined as the characteristic that pertains to all the members of the regular society instead of individuals or groups. Factors of publicness to be experienced during adolescence period can be defined as ‘openness of the participation’, ‘fairness of the procedure’ and ‘sharing of performance.’ Question of application of the elements of the publicness was analyzed, centered on the operation of the institution with the youth’ participation. In conclusion, it is critical to expand the correlation of the institutional social capital formation and citizenry development in order to increase official and structured participation in the society by the adolescents. Accordingly, participation of the adolescents in the group activity is crucial since it can exert negative effect on the society with the voluntary participation of the adolescents for a relatively long period of time. Increase in the opportunity to participate should be based on the publicness to share the performance in the society along with the personal growth.
