문제해결 프로그램 집단과 멘토 연계상담을 통한 문제해결력과 사회적응력 향상

Education is the fundamental eminent to form the society. People know that it is sure that the importance and necessity of education are so serious and critical problem in our society. We have a lot of difficulties in accessing to this social problem and solving it, however. We, unfortunately, have already been wasted too much time to emphasize the importance of education. It is so meaningful the student should know why they have to study and the teacher should know what they have to teach and how to teach them. The materialism and selfishness spread in our society has already overwhelmed the educational principles.
Although people realize the seriousness of this, they have no idea to solve this problem. It is time the teacher should teach their students the personality instead of knowledge without the purpose.
This is the reason we should try to apply the encounter group and mentoring to the educational situation intends the education for the whole man. Through the encounter group, the student can speak out of their heart and consider their problems from the different standpoint. Moreover, they can comfort each other and be concerned about the troubles together. It is sure that this attempt will be able to help the students psychologically. After the encounter group, the
teacher must help the student to live in pursuit of happiness by meeting with his mento steadily and continually. By mentoring, the teacher can have a thorough grasp of the problem the student has and comprehend his situation. If the juvenile has only one person understands and sympathizes their problems, they would never commit suicide. It is so pity that the young have no one who can
comprehend them sincerely Teachers should usually have faithful relationship with their students so that they can open their hearts. It is ideal that students can help not only themselves but also others and their personalities and nature mature enough to figure out the realities and improve their social adaptability with this relationship of mentoring. We hope that our beloved teenagers suffering from an entrance examination and other mental stress will solve these problems, overcome conflicts at present and strongly support the society in future.
An experiment was performed on 1st grade students (Freshmen) at J junior high
school in Seoul Assigning 2 classes as experiment group and 2 classes as control group, Pre-planned group counseling was processed with free curriculum during April. Individual mentoring program had been performed for the volunteers from the experiment group of 2 classes and differences especially from Christian students were studied. The effects of education in
Christian school generally using mentoring for training students on social adaptation and problem-solving were study.
As a result of the experiment, encounter group was effective on experiment group students for social adaptation and self-confidence of problem-solving that is the low field of problem-solving. But it had no effect in total average.
Although encounter group was more effective on experiment group students than control group students, the results of mentoring and religious experiment had no difference in between two groups. Since mentoring was processed as soon as encounter group program had been done, it could be fairly effective on students in experiment group for social adaptation. Because churchgoer
students were not separated from the group to perform mentoring, there was no difference in effect In general, encounter group and mentoring hadn't ever been researched
together.
As a result of the counsel with each student, it was proved that mentoring connected with encounter group is remarkably effective on interpersonal relations, adaptability and ability of problem-solving.
Although mentoring connected with encounter group is a counsel, which needs every efforts and much time, it could be mentor to find right way with individual affection when we come to a crisis.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

교육의 중요성과 필요성의 강조는 다시 거론하지 않아도 현재 우리 사회에 심각한 문제와 누구나 그 가치를 알고 있지만 작금의 현실적인 상태에서 쉽게 손을 댈수 없다는 것을 절감하고 있다 우리 사회는 이미 심각한 교육 부재의 시대에 빠져 있다. 배우는 이들은 무엇 때문에 배워야 하는지, 가르치는 이들은 무엇을 어떻게 가르쳐야 하는지 잘 모르는 것 같다. 물질 만능주의와 이기주의가 학교의 교육의 교육적 원칙을 압도하고 있다. 모든 사람들이 이것에 대한 심각성을 인식하면서도 어디서부터 손을 대야 할지 알지 못하고 있는 것 같다. 지금 우리는 지적인 교육보다 마음을 가르치는 인성과 심리적인 교육이 절실하게 필요하다는 것을 인식하고 있다.
여기에 전인적 교육이 필요한 학교현장에서 집단 상담과 멘토링을 함께 적용해야 할 이유가 있다. 학교 교육 현장에서 집단 상담을 실시하면서 서로의 마음을 열고 서로의 문제를 객관적으로 바라 볼 수 있으며 서로 위로하고 함께 고민한다는 것이 메마르고 과도한 교육열로 인한 경쟁적인 현실에 얼마나 큰 위안이 될지 가히 짐작이 된다. 또한 집단 상담 후 개인적이고 지속적인 멘토와의 만남을 통하여 더욱 친근감을 형성하며 행복하고 더 나은 삶을 살수 있도록 도와주어야 한다. 학생들에게 멘토링을 적용한다면 함께 해결해야 할 문제와 내면 깊이 자리 잡은 은밀한 문제를 서로 나눌 수 있다. 자살로 아직 피지 않은 청소년들이 자기의 속마음을 털어 놓을 수 있는 사람이 한 사람만 있다면 그들이 자살이라는 극단적인 방법을 선택하지 않을 수 있다는 이야기를 듣고 너무나 안타까운 마음이 들었다. 우리 교사는 학생들에게 언제나 속마음을 털어 놓을 수 있는 관계를 평소에 형성해 놓아야 한다. 학생들은 이러한 멘토링의 관계를 통하여 자신 뿐 아니라 다른 사람을 도울 수 있으며 인격과 성품이 자라 현실적인 문제 해결과 사회 적응력이 향상 된다면 더 바랄 것이 없겠다. 이제 입시와 각종 스트레스를 받을 수밖에 없는 우리의 사랑스런 청소년들이 현실에서 충분히 문제를 해결하며 갈등의 순간들을 이길 수 있는 방법을 학습하여 학교에서나 가정 더 나아가 사회에서 커다란 버팀목이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
본인이 근무하는 서울 중학교 학년 대상으로 실험을 하였는데 실험반 2개반, 통제반 2개반을 정하여 4월 한달 동안 재량 시간을 이용하여 계획된 집단상담 프로그램을 진행하였으며 개의 실험반 학생 중 희망자를 중심으로 개인 멘토링 프로그램을 실시하였으며 특히 실험반 학생 중 종교 (기독교) 를 가지고 있는 학생들과의 차이점을 알아보았다. 일반적으로 멘토링을 제자 훈련으로 많이 적용하는 교회 학교에서의 교육이 사회 적응과 문제 해결에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것인가를 알아보았다.
그 결과 실험반 학생들이 집단 상담에 대한 효과가 사회 적응면에서와 문제 해결의 하위 영역인 문제 해결 자신감 등에서는 유의미한 효과가 있으나 전체 평균에서는 유의한 효과가 없다고 나왔다. 또한 집단 상담은 실험반에서가 통제반에서 보다 유의미한 차이가 있었으나 멘토링은 유의미한 차이가 없었으며, 종교에 대한 결과도 유의미한 차이가 없다고 나왔다. 이는 멘토링이 이미 집단 상담 프로그램 실시 후 바로 진행되었기 때문에 충분히 사회 적응면에서 효과가 있었고, 교회에 다니는 학생들만 따로 구별하여 멘토링을 실시하지 않았기 때문에 유의미한 차이가 생기지 않았다.
일반적으로 선행 연구에서는 집단 상담과 멘토링을 함께 연구한 것은 없고 각 상담을 실시한 결과 대인관계나 문제 해결력, 적응력에 매우 효과가 있다는 긍정적인 결과가 있었다.
집단 상담과 연계된 멘토링이 매우 노력과 시간이 많이 소비되는 상담이기는 하지만 개인적인 친근감을 가지고 위기의 순간에 언제나 찾아 갈 수 있는 마음의 위안처가 될 수 있을 것으로 사려된다.
