부모의 청소년기 부정적 경험 및 심리적 부적응 요인이 부모가 지각한 청소년 자녀의 문제행동에 미치는 영향 = The Influences of Parents' Negative Experience and Psychological Maladjustment in Adolescence on the Perceived Problem Behaviors of Their Adolescent Children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims at identifying the influences of parents' negative experience and psychological maladjustment in adolescence (such as low self-esteem, negative life events, dismissive attachment, low social support, and depression) on the perceived problem behaviors of their adolescent children. The subjects consisted of 205 randomly chosen parents with teenager children who lived in Daegu, Pusan, and Gyeongbuk region. For data analysis, the were conducted to frequencies, correlation analysis, simple regression analyses, multiple regression analyses. This study found that the experience of running away from home among parents' negative experience in adolescence had positive relationship with and statistically significant impact on the perceived problem behaviors of teenager children by parents. Dismissive attachment among parent's psychological maladjustment also had positive relationship with and statistically significant impact on the perceived problem behaviors. And according to the results of multiple regression analysis that applied parents' experience of running away from home and all variables of psychological maladjustment, dismissive attachment and negative life events were the most important risk factors that caused or increased the problem behaviors of adolescent children. Accordingly, parents' negative experience and psychological maladjustment in adolescence persist throughout their development period into adulthood and get passed down to the next generation. Since such parents-related risk factors have negative influence on the increase of children's problem behaviors, it is needed to find out protective factors for parents and provide them with programs to overcome those negative past experiences. These efforts will suggest new direction for parent education and this will block parents' risk factors from affecting their adolescent children.
