While poverty due to income polarization is not being resolved globally, the gap between the rich and the poor in Korea is also not easily resolved. Severe income polarization can lead to social problems, such as reducing movement between classes and bringing psychological deprivation to the people. Meanwhile, the government continued to expand cashable welfare to solve poverty. Recently, as the poor have become more vulnerable to social risks due to COVID-19, the national disaster support fund has been a good cause for continuous strengthening of cash welfare. However, the question remains as to whether simple economic aid was actually effective in resolving existing poverty. Therefore, this study noted that the quality of life index is low, contrary to the noticeable economic growth of Korea. In particular, it was pointed out that it was the lowest among OECD countries in terms of social support and relations, and that the recent figures showing poverty escape were poor.
Therefore, this study noted that the quality of life index is low, contrary to the noticeable economic growth of Korea. In particular, it is the lowest among OECD countries in terms of social support and relations, and it was noted that the recent figures showing poverty escape were poor.
Based on these theoretical discussions, a research hypothesis was established and empirically analyzed that a good family relationship that brings family support and economic cooperation will have a positive effect on poverty escape.
As a result of strict analysis of the study subjects and poverty standards, the effect of family relations on the escape from poverty of the working poor was significant quantitatively. This study provided the necessity of social access or strengthening welfare policies rather than simple economic welfare, and provided policy implications in responding to poverty in the future.
