국문 초록 (Abstract)

스트라빈스키(I. Stravinsky, 1882-1971)는 드뷔시(C. Debussy, 1862-1918), 쇤베르크(A. Schoenberg, 1874-1951)와 함께 20세기를 대표하는 작곡가중 한 사람이다. 그의 작곡경향은 초기의 원시주의(Primitivism)와 이후의 신고전주의(Neo-Classicism), 마지막으로 음열주의(Serialism)에 이르는 다양한 양식의 작곡 활동을 하여 현대 음악에 많은 영향을 끼쳤다.
그는 급속도로 변화하는 20세기초의 시대적 배경에 많은 영향을 받았으며 특히 그의 신고전주의 시기에서 그 특징을 볼 수 있다.
본 논문에서는 신고전주의가 나타난 배경 및 음악적 특징과 그 시기에 활동한 작곡가들에 대해 연구하였고 스트라빈스키의 신고전주의 시기의 작곡경향과 작품에 대해 알아보았으며 그의 신고전주의시기의 대표작품인 '시편 교향곡(Symphony of Psalms, 1930)' 의 개괄적인 내용을 밝히고 각 악장마다 악보와 함께 분석하였다.

I. Stravinsky (1882-1971) joins the ranks of C. Debussy (1862-1918) and A. Schonberg (1874-1951) as one of the leading composers of the 20th century. Stravinsky's music stretches to include a variety of afferent forms, including Primitivism, Neo-Classicism and Serialism, and has a great influence on modern music. Stravinsky's music was largely affected by the rapid changes that occurred in the early 20th century and this influence is particularly evident in his Neo-Classic style.
This study attempts to look at the background and characteristics of Neo-Classicism and the composers who were active during the period and at Stravinsky's composing trend during the period of Neo-Classicism and the pieces he composed during this period. In particular, this study will attempt to summarize one of Stravinsky's leading Neo-Classic pieces, Symphony of Psalms, reveal the general message behind this piece and closely analyze the music of each movement.
