器의 상징성을 통한 氣의 표상 연구 : 본인의 작품을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 작품의 연구는 용기가 가지고 있는 원의 상징성과 공간 속에서 자연 발생적인 내면의 공간의 질서를 조합과 변형을 통해 시도한 일련의 작품연구이다.
본인은 용기를 우주의 원리를 담고 있는 영원한 형상체로 보았으며 여러 가지 원리 형상을 지닌 용기의 이미지를 통하여 시대정신을 담는 문화의 상징체로서 용기라는 소재를 사용하였다.
용기의 이미지 차용에 있어서 재현과 표상의 균형을 유지하려 하였으며 器의 상징성을 통한 氣의 표상이라는 주제의 원형을 잃지 않으려 했다.
이러한 일련의 작업을 통해 추구하고자 한 기(氣)의 표상은 용기의 형상과 재료의 성질 조형 요소들의 상호관계를 통한 구성 방법들로 구체화될 수 있었고 제 요소들이 갖는 본질적 의미를 그대로 드러내는 것이 아니고 은유적으로 나타내는 개념임을 작품 제작 과정에서 깨닫게 되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was to investigate a series of works tried by the symbolism of circle that the pottery, a sort of jars, and the combination and transformation of spontaneous and inside spatial order from the space.
This research was to consider the pottery as eternal image that contained the principle of cosmos. And, this researcher was to use the materials like the pottery as a cultural symbol that held various images. As to the borrowing of image from the pottery, this searcher was to keep the balance of reproduction and representation, and try not to loose the prototype of subject like the representation of spirits through the symbolism of energy.
The representation of spirits that this researcher was to purse through a series of works could be materialized with the method of constitution through a reciprocal relationship among the pottery image, property of materials, and formative elements. After all, this researcher came to realize in a process of my works that it did not reveal the essential meaning that the general elemnets had as they were, but it was a concept that was metaphorically expressed.
