    This study evaluated the physiologial responses and subjective sensation with the Hanbok ensemble types of Cheema, Jogori, Baeza and Durumagi. Based on the fundamental data, it makes the criteria of the Hanbok clothing ensemable types appropriate to environmental condition and physiological responses.
    Five healthy college female students volunteered for subjects and executed the experiment of wear trial to measure the physiological responses and subjective sensation at climate chamber of 15±0.5℃ and 50±10% relative humidity. The protocol for the wear trial consisted of rest period of 30 min, exercise period of 30 min and recovery period of 20 min. The subjects wore three kinds of Hanbok ensemble types which were H0 ensemble type(uendrwears+cheema+Jogori), H1 ensemble type(H0+Baeza) and H2 ensemble type(H0+Durumagi) in random. Rectal temperature, skin temperature, heart rate, oxygen consumption and clothing microclimate(temperature and humidity) as physiological responses were measured.. Thermal sensation, wetness sensation, thermal comfort and air movement sensation as subjective sensations were measured.
    In the clothing microclimate of H0 ensemble type, the temperature of the lower part was higher than the upper part. The multiple layered long skirt, and the closure of Boson generated the still air and it caused to increas the heat resistance. In the upper part of H0 ensemble type, ,the heat resistance was reduced by the short length of Jogori, the ventilation of neck line and the opening of sleeves. But in the H1 ensemble type with wearing Baeza and the H2 ensemble type with wearing Durumagi, the thermal insulation increased because of the still air. The Hanbok expressed well the characteristics of the enclosed and layered clothing type of the northern district.
    Heart rate represented the amount of work to do and the H1 ensemble type showed the lowest among three types with significant difference(p<0.01) during the exercise period. Heart rates of H0 and H2 ensemble types were higher than H1 ensemble type. The short Jogori of Ho ensemble and the movement restriction of H2 ensemble might cause the physiological burden.
    The value of oxygen consumption was the highest in H0 ensemble type with significane of p<0.05. It meant that the H0 ensemble type had the largest energy expenditure during the experiment.
    In evaluation of subjective sensation, the temperature sensation was in order of H2>H1>H0 during the experiment and the wetness sensation was in order of H2>H1>H0 after the exerise. In the air movement sensation, the H0 type was the highest one. And n thermal comfort, the H2 ensemble type was the best one. The perception of temperature sensation is positively related to the perception of the perception of comfort. The perception of wetness and air movement were regatively related to the perception of the thermal comfort.
    These days, Hanbok is used to the traditional manner wardrobe for weddings, birthdays, and memorial days. Regardless of thermal environmental climate and activity, it might cause some troubles in physiologial responses. If we put on Hanbok with respect to thermal environment climate and activity, we will be able to maintain the positive thermal comfort in wearing Hanbok and it leads the homeostasis of body temperature. This study was onducted under the limit of environmental condition. But futher research should examine under various environmental conditions to activate the Hanbok wearing.
