‘17C 역사소설 공간’ 전자문화지도 구축 방안 시고 = A Preliminary Study on a Plan for Implementing ‘17C Historical-Novel Space Electronic Cultural Atlas’

This study is the writing that examines the applicability of ‘electronic cultural atlas’ and seeks a method of implementing electronic cultural atlas, as the methodology that researches into the space of the 17C historical novel(literary work), the path(journey) of the main character, and the contents of a work. The electronic cultural atlas can be said to be ‘a method of producing knowledge that creates new information’ beyond a simple meaning of data in that it itself is the database of having been organized with the three-dimensional structure focusing on time, space and topic. The possibility of electronic cultural atlas has been raised as ‘new research methodology of humanities.’ Even its performance was partially accumulated with passing through <A Study on Development and Application of Electronic Cultural Atlas in Joseon Period>(Korea University).
This study aimed to glance at the kinds of historical novels that were written while having suffered the ravages of war before and after 17C by referring to the performance of a previous research, and to examine the possibility available for dimensionally figuring out the literary space by implementing electronic cultural atlas as for the spatial axis and the temporal axis in main works. Even if being the period of being increased the possibility of electronic cultural atlas, its application is still slow. In this regard, a plan for implementing <17C historical-novel space electronic cultural atlas> is thought to be likely research methodology available for grasping a literary work and its space with diverse cultural information and themes.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 17C 역사소설(문학작품)의 공간과 주인공의 동선(노정), 작품의 내용을 연구하는 방법론으로서 ‘전자문화지도’의 활용가능성을 살펴보고, 전자문화지도 구축의 방법을 모색하는 글이다. 문화정보를 ‘전자화’한 지도를 ‘전자문화지도’라고 한다. 전자문화지도는 그 자체가 시간. 공간. 주제 중심의 3차원적 입체구조로 조직된 데이터베이스라는 점에서 단순한 데이터의 의미를 넘는 ‘새로운 정보를 창출하는 지식생산방식’이라고 할 수 있다. ‘인문학의 새로운 연구방법론’으로 전자문화지도의 가능성이 제기되어왔고, 그 성과도 <조선시대 전자문화지도의 개발과 응용연구>(고려대)를 거치면서 일부 축적되었다. 본고에서는 선행연구의 성과를 참고하여 17C 전후 전란의 참화를 거치면서 창작된 역사소설의 종류를 일별하고, 주요 작품의 공간축·시간축을 전자문화지도로 구현하여 문학공간을 입체적으로 살필 수 있는 가능성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 전자문화지도의 가능성이 증대되는 시대이지만, 여전히 활용은 더디고 있다는 점에서 <17C 역사소설 전자문화지도> 구축 방안은 문학작품과 그 공간을 다양한 문화정보와 주제로 파악해 볼 수 있는 연구방법론이 될 것으로 생각된다.
