This study conducted a field survey on the most recently designated (October 2018) Incheon river wetland protection area in Gochang among 25 national wetland protected areas designated by the Ministry of Environment from March 2019 to October 2020, 10 times in total. The results of the analysis of flora and vegetation in Incheon river wetland protection area with high level of ecological potential, where the inland and the coast are connected by an ecological axis, are as follows:
A total of 435 taxon of vascular plants of flora were studied including 101 family, 282 genus, 405 species, 5 subspecies, 25 variety, which accounts for 9.506% of 4,576 species of Korean vascular plant. specific floristic species were investigated for 39 taxon with 1 taxon of grade Ⅳ carpinus laxiflora accounting for 3.99% of 1,476 species by the National Institute of Ecology (2019), class III carex genkaiensis, 12 taxon including potamogeton maackianus, grade II atriplex gmelinii, 7 taxon including Suaeda glauca, Suaeda japonica, grade carex mitrata, phacelurus latifolius, phaenosperma globosa, triglochin maritimum, cymbidium goeringii.
For out-of-the-way plant, out of 571 taxon of out-of-the-way plant designated by the Korea Forest Service, 1 taxon of Carex breviculmis, an endangered species (CR), as LC, Phacelurus latifolius, chionanthus retusus, melothria japonica 3taxon, 2taxon of chloranthus fortunei and polygonum fusco-ochreatum were investigated as data-poor species (DD). For endemic plant, of the 360 taxon of endemic plant designated by the Korea Forest Service, 4 taxon of welgela subsessllls, indigofera koreana, Salix pseudolasiogyne, and forsythia koreana were investigated. Naturalized plants of 49 taxons including Dactylis glomerata, festuca arundinacea, lolium multiflorum, and lolium perenne were investigated.
The naturalization rate (NR), ratio of the number of taxons in naturalized plant to number of taxon of total plant species in survey area, was 11.3%. And Urbanization index (UI), ratio of the number of taxon of naturalized plant (Yangjae Lim & Euisik Jeon, 1980) to total number of taxons of naturalized plants in Korea 321 (species), was 15.3%. 27 tazons including carex pumila, carex scabrifolia, and calamagrostis epigeios were investigated. riverside land in mud flat, reed, limonium tetragonum grows, and At the edge of the waterfront, pyrrophyta like carex scabrifolia steudel, juncus gracillimus grows.
For dormancy form of life form in Incheon river wetland protection area in Gochang, hemicryptophytes account for 21.38% of 93 taxon, the highest rate, then therophyte not wintering 14.94% of 65 taxon, therophyte wintering 13.10% of 57 taxon, geophyte 12.18% of 53 taxon in order.
Comparing the life form with the spectrum of the dormancy form of the Korean Peninsula and South Korea, annual plant is 28.05%, which accounts for 147% of South Korea and 220% of the Korean Peninsula. For radicoid form, nonclonal growth monophytes that do not make connections underground or above ground are 60.46% of 263 species, and the narrowest extent of 263 species with the shortest branching rhizome and the narrowest linkages is 17.70% of 77 species, and 8.51% of 37 species of plant with rhizomatous mutation of oderate extent and narrowest extent.
For disseminule form, no special modification for dissemination where seeds propagate by dropping by gravity around the parent body is 50.80% of 221 species, then small and light seed fluff. Disseminule form carried by wind or water with wing-like appendages is 78 species of 17.93%. Disseminule form in which an animal that eats fruit excretes seeds or a hook-shaped fruit or seed is carried by an animal or human is 57 species of 13.10%.
For growth form, erect form with a clear main axis in the branch 39.31% of 171 species. Tussock form that proliferates through the rhizome with many stems is 16.78% of 73 species.
Third, vegetation reflecting the characteristics of the estuary is divided into suaeda japonica makino colony, suaeda japonica makino-reed colony, reed colony, and phacelurus latifolius colony. Incheon river wetland protection area is a brackish water zone mainly composed of mud flat, where simple vegetation with several species appears. The dahurian wheatgrass, scabrous-leaf sedge occupies a small area at the edge of the mud flat above the intertidal zone with little salt.
