한국 전통문양을 활용한 공예영역 지도방안 연구 : 고등학교 1학년을 중심으로 = A Study on the Teaching Plan of Crafts Realm Using Korean Traditional Pattern : Focused on 1st Grade High School Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Now we are living the modern era of internationalized information in which plenty of information and culture are exchanged. In the reality where western culture is shoving in, it became hard to keep subjective and individual Korean traditional culture.
Recent arts education is also inclined to the traditional arts to understand and interpret correctly domestic culture. A significance is found in that such inclination helps understand and be interested in the right concept and characteristics of traditional arts and establishes a modern aesthetic viewpoint based on the traditional beauty.
This study tried to understand the characteristics and necessity of traditional arts through crafts education using traditional pattern and to give a novel sight and understanding so as to make it possible to approach traditional arts with interest in ordinary life. The purpose of this study was to perceive that the most important thing together with inheriting the traditional thing is to revise it anew to match with the modernity, and to root Korean traditional arts mentally in world arts and culture. It may be also help of nurturing future-oriented and creative men to be able to live stately as a subjective Korean and a cosmopolitan based on national emotion and aesthetic sense.
Followings are the results acquirable from such model of class. Through wide understanding of Korean traditional pattern and application of a systematic class using traditional pattern, it is possible to narrow the distance to traditional arts that students have so far regarded as difficult and ambiguous. It can present the opportunity to be able to experience the domestic values. Expressive power and creativity and observative power might be improved. It can contribute to the nurture of desirable men by enlarging the sense of color and design ability and by helping develope a harmonious discrimination.
In conclusion, expected are as follows. The true image and meaning of Korean traditional pattern will be perceived correctively through the curriculum of crafts realm using Korean traditional pattern, one of a small material of expression. Students' creativity and activity will be improved through curriculum step by step. The spirit and flavor of domestic pattern will be used actively in reality by grafting it into the modern.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

우리가 살고 있는 현대 사회는 세계적으로 수많은 정보와 문화가 교류되고 있는 국제적인 정보화 시대로, 물밀 듯이 밀고 들어오는 서구 문화가 유입되고 있는 우리의 현실에서 한국적이고 주체적이며 개성적인 우리 전통문화와 그 정신을 지키는 일이 어렵고 힘든 일이 되어버렸다.
최근 미술교육에서도 우리 문화를 바로 이해하고 해석하기 위한 전통미술에 관한 연구가 많이 되고 있다. 이는 전통미술에 대한 올바른 개념과 특성을 이해하고 관심을 둘 수 있도록 하고, 과거의 전통적인 미를 바탕에 둔 현대적인 미적 관점을 확립하는 데 그 의의가 있다.
본 연구에서는 전통문양을 활용한 공예수업을 통하여 우리 전통미술의 특징과 필요성을 이해하고, 전통미술에 대하여 재미있게 접근하며, 생활 속에서 즐기고 가꿔갈 수 있도록 참신한 시각과 이해를 주고자 하였다. 전통을 계승하는 문제와 더불어 가장 중요한 것이 그것을 현대에 맞게 새롭게 창조하는 일이라는 것을 인식시키고, 한국 전통미술이 세계 미술 문화 속에서 정신적 뿌리를 내릴 수 있도록 하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 또한, 민족적 정서와 미의식을 기반으로 주체성 있는 한국인으로서 그리고 세계인으로서 당당하게 살아갈 수 있는 미래지향적이고 창의적인 인간 육성에 도움이 되고자 한다.
이러한 수업 모형을 통해 얻어질 수 있는 효율성을 살펴보면, 우리나라의 전통문양에 대한 폭넓은 이해와 전통문양을 활용한 체계적인 수업 적용을 통하여 학생들이 어렵고 막연하게만 생각하였던 전통미술에 대한 거리감을 좁힐 수가 있고, 우리 것의 가치에 대해 직접 경험할 기회를 제공할 수 있다. 또한, 표현력과 창의력이 향상되고 사물에 대한 관찰력이 높아지며 색채 감각과 디자인 능력을 신장시켜 조화로운 미적 안목 개발에 도움을 주어 바람직한 인간상 육성에 이바지할 수 있다.
이렇듯, 작은 표현 소재 중 하나인 한국 전통문양을 활용한 공예영역 학습 과정을 통하여 우리 전통문양의 참모습과 의미에 대해 올바르게 인지하고, 단계적인 학습 과정을 통하여 학생들의 창의성과 능동성이 향상되고, 전통문양을 현대에 접목하여 우리 문양의 얼과 멋을 실생활에서 적극 활용하길 기대해본다.
