도서(島嶼)지역 문화재의 분포 특성과 관광적 활용방향 모색- 전라남도 개발대상도서를 중심으로 - = Distribution Characteristics and Touristic Application of Cultural Heritage on the Islands -Focusing on Islands Requiring Development of Jeollannam-do-

This study investigated distribution characteristics of cultural properties on islands requiring development in Jeollanam-do with the largest number of islands in South Korea, and examined the direction for development of islands requiring development in terms of touristic application of cultural properties, which was suggested by the 4th 10-year plan for Comprehensive Development of Islands, based on the distribution characteristics. This study suggests the following 4 directions to promote touristic application of cultural properties on the islands requiring development. Firstly, it is necessary to systematically investigate and excavate cultural properties on the islands requiring development. Secondly, there should be a thorough investigation of tourism resources on the islands requiring development. In addition, it is necessary to systematically classify tourism resources into several categories such as cultural properties, tourist facilities, foods, and complex type. Thirdly, touristic application plans suitable for the characteristics of cultural properties should be established. Fourthly, it is necessary to find ways in order to utilize cultural properties so that owners and administrators of cultural properties, residents on the islands requiring development, related organizations, and local governments with the islands requiring development can be all together.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 우리나라에서 섬이 가장 많은 시·도 지역인 전라남도의 개발대상도서에 소재한 문화재의 분포 특성을 파악하고, 이를 기초로 하여 「제4차 도서종합개발10개년계획」에 제시된 개발대상도서의 발전방향을 문화재의 관광적 활용 측면에서 점검해 보았다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 개발대상도서에 소재한 문화재의 관광적 활용을 추진하기 위해 다음의 4가지 방향을 제시하였다. 첫째, 개발대상도서 내 문화자산에 대한 조사 및 발굴이 체계적으로 진행되어야 한다. 둘째, 개발대상도서의 관광자원에 대한 조사가 정밀하게 이루어져야 하며, 관광자원을 문화재, 관광시설, 먹거리, 복합 등 몇 가지 범주로 체계적으로 정리할 필요가있다. 셋째, 문화재의 특성에 맞는 관광적 활용계획이 수립되어야 한다. 넷째, 문화재의 소유자·관리자, 개발대상도서 주민, 관련 단체, 개발대상도서가 소재한 시·군이 함께 하는 관광적 활용방안이 모색되어야 한다.
