大學村 開發에 關한 硏究 : 龍仁市 所在 8個 大學을 中心으로 = (A) Study on a Campus Village Development

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The university act with the research center of city and local community and is the community of scholatic activities growing and developing together with these. As the physical environment of university, university facilities consist of an educational and research facilities, educational-research support facilities, general support facilities, housing facilities, and general service facilities.
The physical environment of today's university has developed by the forces of inner growth on the one hend(the increase in lecture, the change of curriculum, the growth of research function, the campus activities besides lecture, etc.)and gervernment policies(the suppression of metropolitan population, the development of local city, the equal grant of educational chance).
As a new campus located in Yongin area, Myungju university has reached the difficulty of internal and external growth. Since 1980, eight universities have been located in Yongin-Kun, mostly on the cheap hills and farm lands far from the developing area. And the universities have made unbalanced investment in education and research facilities.
Today's campus planning emphasizes urban function by virtue of masterplan or urban design controls. But the new campuses located in Yongin have been made to exist as an uninhabited island, rarely related to communities around.
These new campus located Yongin here have such characteristics as follow.
(1) common problems
○ the absence of service facilities supporting university
○ the spent of commutation hours
(2) the circumstences
○ beginning with poor development plan
○ the small scale and poor quality buildings educational environments
○ the potentiality encroachment of a development plan
(3) the separating university from local community
○ weak contribution to local society; i.e., for local research, information services.
○ poor conditions for fixing local society
- the living environment facilities below standard
○ the incompleted conditions of a local spreading efficiency
- local economy in general
In conclusion, the proposal of campus village development require the provision of a residential site for university undergraduate to receive full time school education and research activity through improvement and supplement action of cultural functions besides residential functions.
Thus, this study aims for planing campus village in front of Myungji university.
