한센노인에 대한 집단회상요법에 관한 연구: 자아존중감과 자아통합감을 중심으로 = The Study of a Group Reminiscence Therapy on the Elderly with Leprosy: Focusing on Self-Esteem and Self-Integration

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of a Group Reminiscence Therapy on self-esteem and self-integration among the elderly with Leprosy.
The subjects were 12 elderly people with Leprosy, 6 for the experimental group and 6 for the control group, from an agricultural village in Cheonbuk province. A Group Reminiscence Therapy was conducted about an hour, once a week for 4 weeks from March 7 to March 27, 2008. The research design was quasi-experimental design and Non- equivalent control group with a pretest-posttest design.
This study was used Descriptive Analysis with SPSS 12.0 program, Chi-Square test and Mann-whitney U test to analyze the data of variation on self-esteem and self-integration based on the concrete recollections of the participants.
The result of the study were as follows; First, A Group Reminiscence Therapy showed significant effect on improving self-esteem among the elderly with Leprosy.
Second, a Group Reminiscence Therapy didn't show significant effect on improving self-integration among the elderly with Leprosy.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 집단 회상요법이 한센노인의 자아통합감과 자아존중감에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 한 것이다. 이를 위해 전라북도 소재 00농원에 거주하는 한센노인을 대상으로 유사 실험설계로서 비동등성 통제집단 전후실험설계(Non- eqivalent control group pretest-posttest design)방법으로 집단 회상요법을 실시하였다. 실험집단 6명, 통제집단 6명을 선정하였고, 실험집단을 대상으로 일주일에 1회씩 1시간 정도 2008년 3월 7일부터 3월 27일까지 총 4주간 집단회상요법을 시행하였다.
본 연구는 연구결과의 자료를 분석하기 위해 SPSS Window 12.0 프로그램을 활용하여 기술 통계분석(Descriptive Analysis), X²검증 및 맨-휘트니 검정(Mann-whitney U test)을 실시하였고, 프로그램 진행시 구체적인 참여자들의 회상내용을 토대로 자아존중감과 자아통합감의 변화정도를 분석하였다. 연구결과를 토대로 내린 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 집단회상요법은 한센노인의 자아존중감을 향상시키는데 매우 큰 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 집단회상요법은 노인의 자아통합감을 향상시키는데 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 한센노인들이 집단 회상요법을 참여하면서 긍정적인 측면의 과거를 회상할 때 자아존중감과 자아통합감이 높았다. 넷째, 회상의 주제가 우울한 내용일 경우나 좋지 못한 관계 등 부정적인 회상을 하실 때에는 자아통합감이 낮았다.
그동안의 한센인에 대한 환부 중심적인 접근방법에의 변화와 질병 위주의 사업에서 심리·정서적 재활서비스로의 전환이 이루어져서, 우리나라 89개 정착촌에 거주하는 한센노인의 자아존중감과 자아통합감을 높이기 위한 서비스의 제공이 요청된다.
