어린이들의 그림에 나타난 표제음악의 음악적 이미지 분석 연구 = Children`s Symbolic Expression of Musical Image Evoked by Program Music

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is designed to have the children to draw pictures and describe the pictures for analyzing the relationship of symbolic expression with the musical image evoked by program music. As a result of analyzing the drawing, children displayed the understanding and feeling on music in abstract symbols (line, drawing and symbol) and pictorial symbols (pictures including image and story) and the similar color, line, and theme are used to express in visual image. Analyzing the description, it is classified in four types in description of music and musical characteristics, referential description, emotional description and thinking and judgment on music. From the musical elements of the 4 piece of program music, rhythm pattern, texture, instrument and mode evoke musical image for children and it is symbolically expressed by linked to feeling, imagination and personal experience of each student. This study found general developmental trends in children`s symbolic expression: younger students make stories with the music through emotion or sensitive description, whereas older students link the key elements perceived in music to represent the characteristics of music in creative ways. Children`s symbolic representations displayed their understanding of referential meanings in program music and related to emotional experience, level of focused attention, and musical knowledge.
