그림책을 이용한 음악활동이 유아의 음악창의성에 미치는 효과 = The Effects of Music Instruction Using Picture Books on Musical Creativity of Young Children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of music instruction using picture books and related creative activities on the musical creativity of young children. The subjects for this study were children from two intact classes of a kindergarten in Seoul, Korea-- the 4-year-old class and the 5-year-old class. The children in each class were randomly assigned to the treatment and control groups; one half of the children from each class were randomly assigned to each group. The treatment group (n = 20) experienced music instruction using picture books with related music creative activities for 8 weeks, and the control group (n = 19) received general music classes in which the picture books were read, but children did not engage in creative music activities related to the books.
The researcher administered Webster’s Measure of Creative Thinking in Music II (MCTM-II) to both groups at the beginning and end of instruction.
Mann-Whitney U test revealed the following: there was a statistically difference for musical extensiveness, musical flexibility, musical originality, and composite creativity scores (MCTM-II) between the two groups with the experimental group achieving a higher score. There was no significant difference for musical syntax. Therefore, music instruction using picture books with related creative activities can support musical creativity by providing opportunities to experience and create music in various ways.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 그림책을 활용한 음악활동이 유아의 음악창의성에 미치는 효과를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 실험집단 20명과 비교집단 19명 총 39명으로 8주 동안 16회의 실험처치를 실시하고 Webster의 음악창의성검사(MCTM-II)를 사용하여 사전-사후 검사를 실시하였다. 음악적 언어와 창의적 구조를 가진 그림책을 선정하여 음악활동을 구성하여 실험처치 프로그램을 구성하였다. 두 집단의 수집된 자료를 비교 분석하기 위해 Mann-Whitney U test를 실시한 결과 실헙집단 유아들이 비교집단 유아들보다 음악창의성의 하위영역 중 음악논리성을 제외한 음악지속성, 음악융통성, 음악독창성이 유의하게 향상되었다. 따라서, 그림책을 활용한 음악활동이 유아의 음악창의성 증진에 효과적인 자료가 될 수 있음을 알 수 있다.
