The 21st century society values personality and creativity among many others. To educate these values, a new curriculum became necessary, which lead to 2009 Curriculum Revision. This Thesis will analyze the Elementary School Physical Education under 2009 Curriculum Revision comprehensively, especially focusing on personality and creativity. The structure and content of four Elementary School Physical Education textbooks currently used are analyzed systematically with focus on creativity and personality, which are set as the main topic for this thesis.
Under comprehensive analysis of the four 2009 Curriculum Revision Elementary School Physical Education textbooks, the textbooks follow and reflect the requirements of the 2009 Curriculum Revision in with the regard of creativity and personality, but, methodically, the textbooks only suggests the educators to educate the students with descriptions and figures, which may be limiting both learning and teaching capability.
In the modern age Physical Education is becoming crucial as the interest for health and well-being has increased, a thorough investment and development to Physical Education textbook will be necessary both in content and structure. To do so, in the development phase in of the textbook must balance between the content and structure, and reflect the requirements of the curriculum regarding personality and creativity. These elements must carefully developed to suggest a more diverse and specific methods to both educators and students.
This thesis may be used for developing and evaluating Physical Education textbooks. In addition, this thesis aims to provide the educators for a comprehensive and diversified point of views in class, and cultivate the personality and creativity for the students.
