    『Sohak(小學)』 as a teaching material for children compiled by Juhee(朱熹) and Riucheongji(劉淸之) in Song Dynasty(宋) in 1187 was conveyed to the country at the end of Goreo Dynasty(高麗) and was widely taught and distributed in Joseon Dynasty(朝鮮). This study intends to outline the entire editions of Sohak(小學) published in Joseon Dynasty, examine the aspects and trends of publications of Sohak through the analyses of each edition, in each published period and in each publishing place and establish the system.
    The content is as follows in a summary.
    First, 『Sohak(小學)』 as a book for moral training was compiled by Juhee and Riuchengji and seemed to be conveyed to the country in the period of the introduction of Juja's Seongrihak(朱子性理學) at the end of Goryeo Dynasty.
    Second, the editions of Sohak included in chaekpanmokrok(冊板目錄) all appeared to be 20 kinds in reference of book names and the books are possessed at 61 places in the country.
    Third, if the overall present conditions of Sohak appeared in various book lists until the periods after 17 through 19 century are examined, there are total 18 kinds in reference of book names and 52 volumes are enlisted as a whole. Among these, 『Sohak(小學)』 is the most as 11 volumes.
    Fourth, the presently-existing editions were 21 kinds in reference of book names and the number of editions was examined as total 65 kinds. The edition published the most actively was 『Sohakjeagajipju(小學諸家集註)』 in case of Chianese character editions(漢文本) and Sohakeonhae(小學諺解) compiled in Yeongjo's ruling period(英祖朝) in case of Korean letter editions(諺解本). Meanwhile, the earliest edition in period is 『Jaejupyojejusosohakjipseong(諸儒標題註疏小學集成)』 which is a engraved edition on tablet in 15 century in case of Chinese character editions and 『Beonyeoksohak(飜譯小學)』 published in the middle of 16 century in case of Korean letter editions.
    Fifth, as the editions printed with types, metal type editions appeared to be 15 kinds, wooden type editions 6 kinds and wooden tablet editions appeared as total 44 kinds.
    Sixth, if the characteristics of Sohak publications in each period are examined, in 15 to 16 century, the commentaries compiled by Chinese such as 『Sohakjipseol(小學集說)』 , 『Sohakseojiphae(小學書集解)『』, etc. as well as 『Sohakjipseong(小學集成)』 were chiefly published and Korean letter editions were compiled based on 『Sohakjipseong(小學集成)』 and 『Sohakjipseol(小學集說)』. In 17 century, 『Sohakjegajipju(小學諸家集註)』 which is a commentary compiled by a Korean was printed with Hunryeondogamja(訓鍊都監字) for the first time. Also, a Korean letter edition based on 『Sohakjegajipju(小學諸家集註)』 was compiled and published.
    The number of kinds of editions published in 18 century is all 17 kinds and showed the most number of kinds, and 『Sohakjegajipju(小學諸家集註)』 of them is the most as 6 kinds. 『Sohakeonhae(小學諺解)』 attached with King Yeongjo's Eojeseo(御製序) as well as the compilation of 『Sohakjegajipju(小學諸家集註)』 of Seonjeongjeonhuneui(宣政殿訓義) was newly published and the new Korean compiled commentaries such as 『Eojesohakjinam(御製小學指南)』 appeared. In 19 century, various Koreans commentaries such as 『Sohakmundap(小學問答)』, 『Sohakjeolyo(小學節要)』 , 『Sohakjegajipjujeunghae(小學諸家集註增解)』 , 『Sohakgyubeom(小學閨範)』 , 『Sohakdongjamun(小學童子問)』 , etc. were compiled, published and widely distributed and in 20 century, publications were carried out by being engraved as metal type editions chiefly handed down or with the different number of line letters.
    Seventh, if the characteristics of each publishing places are examined, in the central government, books were printed chiefly using types in Chunbang(春坊), Gyoseoguan(校書館), Hunryeondogam(訓鍊都監), Ungak(芸閣), etc., and in provinces, the cases that the type editions handed down from the central government were engraved. According to the presently-existing materials, the publications were carried out in the areas such as Byeongsanhyeon(屛山縣), Andongbu(安東府), Sangsan(商山), Euichun(宜春), Nogok(蘆谷), etc. and the publications of Sohak were carried out in Wanyeong(完營), Yeongju(瀛州), Gwangjubu(廣州府), Chungcheonggamyeong(忠淸監營), Hamyeong(咸營).
    Meanwhile, 『Sohakjipseol(小學集說)』was published in Jukcheonseodang(竹川書堂) in Sanyang(山陽), 『Sohakgyubeom(小學閨範)』 was published in Yeongjuhyanggyo(瀛州鄕校), and in case of temples, the preface of 『Eojesohakjinam (御製小學指南)』 , Sosik(小識), Gangi(刊記), etc. were published in wooden tablets in Gaewonsa(開元寺) and Taigosa(太古寺). A lso, in m any priv ate boo k stores such as Singuseorim(新舊書林), Hoidongseoguan(滙東書館), Gwangdongseoguk(光東書
    局), etc., the metal type editions handed down were engraved, or changed in different number of line letters and published in wooden tablet editions in a variety of forms.
