The purpose of this study was to study the characteristics of changes in traditional houses, where people lived in rural communities since the Joseon Dynasty, after the industrial modern period. In addition, by limiting the scope of research on Goesi Village in Yeongdeok, where human and material exchanges have been frequent with Andong and Yeongdong areas since the past, it was intended to derive characteristics that show locality by deriving serial differences and characteristics between the flat composition of traditional houses in terms of plane characteristics and disclosure. The study first attempted to derive the regional characteristics of traditional housing by analyzing the spatial composition method by housing type and size, and second, to derive the transformational characteristics of traditional housing after the modern era by examining the changes in housing space that appeared as a result of the transition to modern society. Through this study, the characteristics of spatial composition change by plane type were derived, and the regionality and plane change patterns were derived by serializing the planes to derive similarities and differentiation between houses. As a result of the study, it was intended to contribute to the construction of architectural data for the preservation or remodeling of traditional houses in the future by synthesizing the changes in traditional houses in rural areas.
