한국판 상담조력기술척도의 타당화 연구 = Validation of the Korean Version of the Helping Skills Measure

This study validated the Korean Version of the Helping Skills Measure(HSM) which assesses the client`s perception of the counselors` three helping skills(exploration, insight, and action skills) based on three-stage helping skills model. Participants were clients who had more than 3 counseling sessions. Item analyses indicated three items were inadequate, thus, they were excluded from the scale. Confirmatory factor analyses with two independent samples yielded a 3- factor structure of the scale, and the subscales showed high reliability. The result from a hierarchical regression analysis indicated that three helping skills predicted counseling outcome significantly after controlling therapeutic relationships. Theoretical and clinical implications of the findings were discussed along with the limitations and suggestions for further research.
