대학생의 우울극복 과정 분석 = Analysis on the Recovery Process of Depression of the Undergraduates

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigated students` recovery experience of depression to explore their psychological characteristics, to find the structure of recovery process, and ultimately to develop a substantive theory. Fourteen college students recovered from depression were selected for intensive interviews. Data from the interviews was qualitatively analyzed, using the grounded theory. The analysis yielded the core category of Replacing Turning to Others with Shaping Their own Life Course. The properties of this core category differed by the level of the reinforcing motivation and the capacity to control the external environment and the internal state of mind. The strong motivation and the ability to cope with life changes helped to maintain a stable condition. Yet, the lack of them resulted in the relapse of despair and frustration.
