중학생의 낙관성과 비관성, 어머니의 촉진적 의사소통, 진로태도성숙의 관계모형 검증 = Testing the Relational Model of Middle School Students' Optimism, Pessimism, Maternal Facilitative Communication, and Career Attitude Maturity

This study was conducted to test the relational model of middle school students' optimism, pessimism, maternal facilitative communication, and career attitude maturity and to test the mediating effect of maternal facilitative communication. Three-hundred ninety-six 8th and 9th graders completed self-report questionnaires in class. The results of structural equation modeling are summarized as follows. Of the models with either optimism or pessimism as predictor, maternal facilitative communication as mediator, and career attitude maturity as outcome variable, the partial mediation models fit the data better than the complete mediation models. The mediating effects of maternal facilitative communication were significant. These results imply that maternal facilitative communication help optimistic adolescents develop career attitudes and lack of maternal facilitative communication discourage pessimistic adolescents from developing career attitudes. The implications of the present findings for youth counseling and parent consultation and the suggestions for further research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 중학생의 낙관성 및 비관성과 진로태도성숙의 관계를 어머니의 촉진적 의사소통이 매개하는 관계모형의 적합도와 매개변인의 효과를 검증하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위하여, 중학교 2, 3학년 학생 396명에게 자기-보고형 질문지를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 낙관성과 비관성을 각각 예언변인으로, 어머니의 촉진적 의사소통을 매개변인으로, 진로태도성숙을 결과변인으로 한 관계모형을 설정하였다. 구조방정식모형 분석을 통해 모형의 적합도를 검증하였으며, Sobel 검증 중 Aroian 방정식으로 매개효과의 유의도를 검증하였다. 첫째, 낙관성-촉진적 의사소통-진로태도성숙의 관계모형 중 부분매개모형이 완전매개모형보다 적합하였으며, 부분매개모형에서 촉진적 의사소통의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 둘째, 비관성-촉진적 의사소통-진로태도성숙의 관계모형 중 부분매개모형의 적합도가 완전매개모형보다 높았으며, 부분매개모형에서 촉진적 의사소통의 매개효과가 유의하였다. 셋째, 모든 경로계수가 유의하여, 중학생의 낙관성이 높을수록 또는 비관성이 낮을수록 어머니의 촉진적 의사소통 수준과 진로태도성숙 수준이 높았으며, 어머니의 촉진적 의사소통이 많을수록 진로태도성숙 수준이 높았다. 이러한 연구결과가 청소년지도와 상담, 그리고 부모자문에 던지는 시사점과 후속연구의 필요성에 관하여 논하였다.
