STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 양육태도와 자아개념에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of STEP Parent Education Program in upon Mother's Rearing Attitudes & Mother's Self-concept

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 사회의 핵가족화, 여성의 사회적 진출과 같은 사회구조의 변화, 맞벌이 부부의 증가가 계속 되면서 가정에서 자녀와 부모와의 상호작용기회는 점차 감소되어 가고 있다. 부모는 유아가 경험하는 최초의 환경이며 부모를 통해 사회화 기초를 형성해 나간다. 유아기의 환경과 교육경험은 성장 후 여러 측면의 발달에 결정적인 영향을 미친다.
특히, 어머니의 양육태도와 긍정적인 자아개념이 유아의 성장과 발달에 중요한 영향을 미치며, E. B. Hulrock(1972)는 부모의 유아양육방식은 아동의 사회적 행동과 태도에 가장 크게 영향을 준다고 밝혔다.
본 연구에서는 현재 유아교육기관에서 많이 사용하고 있는 부모교육 프로그램에 제시된 상황설정이나 사례 등을 우리 실정에 맞게 내용이 구성되어진 접근 용이한 STEP 부모교육 프로그램을 강조함으로써 계획된 부모교육을 통한 어머니의 양육태도 개선방법과 어머니의 긍정적인 자아개념의 효과를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다.
이 연구로 말미암아 바람직한 자질을 갖춘 부모가 자녀와 긍정적인 상호작용을 할 때 부모교육의 효과는 극대화될 것으로 예상된다.
본 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
1. STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 양육태도에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것인가?
2. STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 자아개념에 어떤 영향을 미칠 것인가?
본 연구의 대상은 경북 P지역의 A유치원에 자녀를 보내고 있는 만 3, 4, 5세의 어머니를 대상으로 무선 표집한 후, 실험집단 12명, 통제집단 12명으로 나누어 사전검사, 실험, 사후검사, 순으로 실시하였다.
본 연구에서 연구도구를 보면 어머니 양육태도측정도구는 국내에서 표준화된 오기선(1965)의 “어머니와 자녀진단검사”에서 필요한 사항을 선택하고 Schaefer의 모형인 애정-거부, 자율-통제적 태도가 중심으로 된 측정도구 Maternal Behavior Research Instrument "MBRI" 내의 문항을 연결하여 황옥자(1987)가 사용한 10개 하위영역으로 나누어 사용하였고, 어머니 자아개념 측정도구는 정원식(1977)의 “자아개념 진단 검사도구”를 이옥선(1987), 서영숙(2000)이 사용한 신체적 자아개념, 능력적 자아개념, 도덕적 자아개념, 가정적 자아개념, 사회적 자아개념의 10개 하위영역으로 나누어 사용하였다.
본 연구의 절차는 실험집단을 대상으로 Don Dinkmeyer 와 Gary D. Mckay가 쓰고 이경우가 번역한 교재 STEP(Systematic Training For Effective Parenting - 효율적 부모역할 수행을 위한 체계적 훈련) 프로그램을 9주간, 9회 실시하였고, 통제집단은 STEP 프로그램을 실시하지 않고,유치원 부모교육 자료를 월 1회 발송하였으며, 실험집단, 통제집단 모두 어머니의 양육태도, 자아개념의 평가도구에 의해 사전, 사후 검사 도구를 실시하였다. 그 결과 두 집단 간의 유의미한 차이가 있는지를 알아보았다.
STEP 부모교육 프로그램을 실시한 전후의 어머니의 양육태도와 자아개념의 차이를 모두 유의수준 p<.01, p<.05, p<.001에서 검증하였으며, 통계처리는 SPSSWIN 12.0 프로그램을 사용하여 평균차이 검증인 t-test를 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 양육태도에 미치는 영향을 보면 실험집단의 STEP 부모교육 프로그램의 사전·사후 어머니의 양육태도가 통제집단보다 시기별 뚜렷한 차이를 보이고 있어, STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 긍정적인 양육태도에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있다.
둘째, STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 자아개념에 미치는 영향을 보면 실험집단의 STEP 부모교육 프로그램의 사전·사후 어머니의 자아개념이 통제집단보다 시기별 뚜렷한 차이를 보이고 있어 STEP 부모교육 프로그램이 어머니의 긍정적인 자아개념에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있다.
이상의 연구결과는 STEP 부모교육 프로그램을 통한 어머니의 양육태도의 긍정적인 변화의 효과를 입증하였으며, 어머니의 자아개념 또한 긍정적으로 변화됨을 입증하였다.
또한 본 연구가 유아교육기관에 자녀를 보내고 있는 어머니들에게 우리의 실정에 맞게 내용이 구성된 STEP 부모교육 프로그램에 관심을 갖게 함으로써 자칫 간과할 수 있는 양육태도와 자아개념의 중요성을 다시 한번 긍정적으로 깨달을 수 있음에 큰 의미가 있다고 할 수 있으며, 유아교육현장에서의 그 효용가치 또한 크게 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The interaction between parents and their children has decreased with a nuclear family of a modern society, the change of society structure such as the entry of women in public affairs, and increasing husband and wife both working. Parents are the first circumstance for experiences of infants and they teach the base of socialization to their children. The circumstance and education experiences of infancy definitely affect many aspects of physical and mental development after growing.
Especially, the parenting-attitude and positive self-perception are important factors for a growth and a development of infants. E. B. Hulrock (1972) published that the concept of parents' infant-parenting is the greatest portion for their social behavior and attitude.
The purposes of this research are that the revised methods for mother who has bad behaviors to infants and the effects of positive self-perception of mother with planned parents-education which the program of STEP(Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) parents-education, which is useful to contact because of that it is used by modern infant educational institution and is reflected with our actual circumstances such as assumed situations and examples, is emphasized. As a result of this research, the effect of parents-education will be maximized when parents who has desirable quality positively interact with their children.
The themes of the study are that
1. What does STEP program affect to the parenting-attitude of mother?
2. What does STEP program affect to the self-perception of mother?
The subjects of investigation for the research are randomly selected among mothers who has three, four, five years old children, who is educated in A kindergarten located P in Kyung book. They were organized as a test group and a management group which are composed by twelve people and then executed the order of a pretest, a experiment and a posttest.
Research means in this research consist of that the measurement means of parenting-attitude of mother which is selected and standardized in domestic by "a diagnosis test of children with mother" written by Oh Ki-sun(1965), measurement means, which are focused on Love-Rejection, Self-Management attitude called the model of Schaefer, was used by that the sentences in Maternal Behavior Research Instrument "MBRO" is connected by divided ten infrastructures which Hwang Ok-ja (1987) employed and "the test means of a diagnosis of self-perception" written by Jung Won-sik (1977), and ten infrastructures of physical self-perception, self-perception of ability, self-perception of moral, self-perception of moral, self-perception of family and self-perception of soceity which are used by Lee Ok-sun (1987), Seo Young-sook (2000) are used for the measure means of self-perception of mother.
For steps of this research, we executed STEP(Systematic Training For Effective Parenting) program, which is written by Don Dinkmeyer and Gary D. Mckay and is translated by Kyoung woo Lee, 9 times for 9 weeks and pre & post inspection-means with the parenting-attitude of mother and the evaluation-means of self-perception to detect the analogous difference between two groups, nevertheless, we did not execute STEP program for management-groups, but kindergarten parent education data was sent, once a month.
We verified the difference between before and after of the parenting-attitude and the self-perception of mother who experienced STEP program in the equivalent condition, which is p<.01, p<.05, p<.001, and we executed t-test, which is verification of average-difference, as statistics management by using SPSSWIN 12.0 program.
The results of this research are below
First, in the case of influence on the parenting-attitude of mother by STEP program, we discovered that STEP program has an effect on mother to get positive parenting because the parenting-attitude of mother hourly shows more obvious difference than management-groups after executing STEP program to experiment-group.
Second, in the case of influence on the self-perception of mother by STEP program, we discovered that STEP program has an effect on mother to get positive parenting because the self-perception of mother hourly shows more obvious difference than management-groups after executing STEP program to experiment-group.
The results of this research above do not only verify the positive alteration-effects of parenting-attitude of mother throughout STEP program, but also verify that self-perception of mother is changed in the affirmative.
Moreover, this research is a task of great significance because mothers who send their children to the infant educational institution realize once more in the affirmative the importance of parenting-attitude and self-perception, which we enable nearly overlook, as letting them feel interest in STEP program constituted suitably to our circumstance.
