It is currently working on the fifth comprehensive national territory plan, which envisions the future of the national territory space for the next 20 years. The previous plans are a product of the age of population growth, and the plan aims to prepare for rapidly changing technological developments and external conditions as well as to adapt to the population reduction age. Korea's national territory is expected to change considerably due to the appearance of self-driving cars and the realization of smart cities. In addition, there is a need to constantly change indicators that can be raised sustainable development. Sustainability in the comprehensive national territory plan was based on the basic concepts of national territory management: balanced development, efficient management, and eco-friendly guidance, but the amount of eco-friendly indicators is high and whether they are indicators that can represent the past and present is questionable. In this study, we will analyze the planning tasks from the first plan to the fourth plan and look for indicators that can represent past and present achievements. In addition, we would like to present additional indicators by analyzing the contents of the 5th comprehensive national territory plan that is currently underway. Firstly, it is analyzed the past and current national territory comprehensive plan tasks, and secondly, referring the indicators from the Presidential Commission on Sustainable and the Ministry of Land, Transportation, it is presented some of the indicators that are easy to understand, easy to obtain statistical data and lastly understood development of changes. In addition, it is presented some indicators representing the 5th comprehensive national territory’s the project contents. According to the research results, per capita gross national income, road supply rate, airport passenger traffic volume, port unloading capacity were selected in terms of efficiency, urbanization rate, population concentration in the metropolitan area, non-capital area ratio of non-capital area in the area, housing number per 1,000 in terms of scale of eauity, environment-friendly area ratio, forest area ratio, and per capita urban park area in terms of eco-friendly nature. The results of the plan were considerable achievements in expanding social over head capital, securing residential space and expanding urban living infrastructure, but they are deemed to be insufficient in terms of balanced development and environmental aspects. Considering the contents of the 5th comprehensive plan for national territory in the future, it is necessary to change to user's access to roads and inter-city access rather than road supply rate and public transportation distribution rate, and to develop indicators such as maintenance of old-aged facilities, creation of innovation hubs in the region and the prevention of disasters and water leakage rate, etc.
