This study on the numerical analysis on hydrostatic journal bearing for screw grinding machine is carried out by using numerical method.
In this study, oil temperature, viscosity and flow rate of hydrostatic journal bearing are calculated through iteration procedure and two oils with viscosity(5cSt and 10 cSt) are considered. Also load capacity and stiffness of hydrostatic journal bearing are calculated. And the calculated results were compared with the other results. The oil with high viscosity(10cSt) has higher oil temperature than low viscosity(5cSt) and has lower flow rate than low viscosity.
The obtained results can be applied to the design and the improvement of hydrostatic journal bearing.
