There has been self-reflection that we have overweighted the information-based education and as a result we have overlooked the ultimate purpose of education, 'Instruction of Human Nature' which is 'Education for raising young boys and girls as a mankind of human feelings.' In addition, we are realizing the importance of Human Nature Education because the young boys and girls are getting more violent and troublous.
However, the theories as well as methodologies about the Human Nature Education are rare currently.
Therefore, I present Diary of Wonbuddhism as a methodology for Human Nature Education and also view the possible usage of it in classrooms.
I restrict the research to the Human Nature Education in elementary school, junior high school and high school, and I center on the use of Diary of Wonbuddhism among the several programs for human nature.
Bibliographical method and educational case-study are adopted here to demonstrate the validity of Diary of Wonbuddhism. This paper is written easily and concretely for easy understanding to the public rather than professional and academic purpose because I aimed the teachers who are in charge of Human Nature Education in school.
I found the effect of Diary of Wonbuddhism as followings from the case-study in elementary school, junior high school and high school.
First, changes of the basic life habit have been brought about.
Second, optimistic self-concept has been formed.
Third, self-control ability has been developed.
Fourth, social ability has been developed and good relationship with others formed.
Finally, emotion controlling ability has been developed.
Considering the above results of research, Diary of Wonbuddhism is valuable enough as a methodology of Human Nature Education in Public Education.
Here is several projects for the profound study.
First, the research on the Diary by grade and by degree is required.
Diary which is applicable to each grade as well as to each and every elementary school, junior high school and high shcool is required, and the degree of Diary Instruction should be established to instruct the students who completed the first degree of Diary to advance to the next degree.
Second, the research on the program which would raise the teachers to instruct the students in Mind-Comparing Diary is urgent. Additionally, instruction plans for the parents to guide their children in lower grade in Diary during vacation should be prepared.
Third, the methods should be studied, which could be used to review the coincidence between the teacher's goal to reach by applying the Diary and the pattern the student show, and also the way to affirm the detailed changes of students.
Finally, on top of anything else, the research on the ways to make various use of Diary of Wonbuddhism presented as a methodology of Human Nature Education and the plans to spread it to the public is really needed.
