The purpose of this study is to present an order selecting method for developing the computerized system to present a prototype of clinical pathway from electric medical record database of a hospital.
I extract the lists and frequencies of orders from electric medical record database of cervical cancer patients who underwent an operation at the hospital. To compare frequencies of orders, I used the F-value (percentage of the frequency of an order divided by the number of patients at the day of the order) to reflect the relative frequency of an order.
A total of 545 patients presumed by computer were enrolled in this study. From operative day to postoperative seventh day, a total of 2639 lists of orders were extracted by computerized query. The appropriate cutoff of F-value was 11.9 to include the 38 actual orders. Using this cutoff of F-value, sensitivity and specificity to select the 38 actual orders were 100% and 93.8%, respectively. I could obtain the prototype of clinical pathway for cervical cancer patients undergoing operation.
I could obtain the list of orders for the prototype of clinical pathway through relative frequency of the each order from the electric medical record database.
