회피애착형 상담자가 지각한 상담관계경험에 대한 질적연구 = A Qualitative Study on Counseling Relationship Experiences Perceived by the Avoidant Counselors

The present study aims to identify general interpersonal characteristics, counseling relationship properties perceived by avoidant attachment counselors. Additionally, explore to in-depth understanding of the counseling relationship that how expressed avoidant attachment style. While collecting data, adult attachment test has been carried out to the 103 counselors in Seoul and Gyeonggi area and 9 of them participated in this study. The in-depth interviews has conducted two or three times. Grounded theory method was used to analyze interview data, creating 105 concepts, 45 subcategories, and 18 categories. The core phenomenon of avoidant attachment counselors was ‘maintain boundary and emotion’. Just as also shown in the counseling relationship, according to findings, dependent client felt uncomfortable and thought important to maintain certain distance with counselor. Other results are shown as ‘Relational dynamics and countertransference feeling are not shown mostly in the counseling relationship’, ‘Keeping boundary with a client who is trying to be close’ and ‘Waiting for client’. Finally, suggestions for the limitations of this study and ideas for further research are discussed and proposed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 회피애착형 상담자들이 지각하는 일반적인 대인관계 특성, 상담관계 특성을 확인하고 상담자의 애착 패턴이 상담관계에서 어떻게 발현되는지에 대한 심층적 이해를 목적으로 이루어졌다. 서울, 경기 지역의 상담자 103명에게 성인애착검사를 실시하고, 그 중에서 회피애착형으로 나타난 상담자 9명이 연구에 참여하였다. 이들을 대상으로 심층면담을 2∼3차에 걸쳐 실시하였고, 수집된 자료를 근거이론방식을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과, 105개의 개념과 45개의 하위범주, 18개의 상위범주가 도출되었다. 회피애착형 상담자의 상담관계경험의 중심현상으로는 “경계와 정서적 거리의 유지”인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이는 상담관계에서 의존적인 내담자를 불편해하고, 내담자와도 일정거리를 유지하는 것을 중요하게 생각하는 현상으로 나타났다. 또한, ‘상담관계에서 관계적역동이나 역전이감정이 크게 나타나지 않는 특징을 보였으며, 상담관계에서의 대처방식은’ ‘가까워지려는 내담자에 대한 상담자의 경계를 지킴’ ‘감정 반응에 휘말리지 않고 거리를 둠’ ‘내담자를 기다려줌’과 같은 특성을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점에 관하여 논의하였다.
