대인불안과 부정적 정서의 관계에서 자아존중감의 조절효과 = Moderating Effects of Self-Esteem on the Relationship between Interpersonal Anxiety and Negative Affect

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to investigate the effects of self-esteem(SE) on the relation between interpersonal anxiety(IA) and negative affect(NA). 390 high school students in Gyeonggido province were polled to this end and a correlation and hierarchical regression analysis wasssos wover the data. The findings are as follows: First, it appears that the relation between SE and IA is significantly negative and this also seems to be the case for SE and NA, whereas the relation between IA and NA seems significantly positive. Second, it appears to hold true for female students that both IA and SE have significant interarelatieffects on NA yet it soes not seem to be the case for male students. In other words, for a female student who has a higher level of self-esteem, the level of NA soes not significantly increasr word when that of IA grows higher. A possible explanation is that a female student's self-esteem functions as a moderating variable in the relation between IA and NA. Implications and suggestions for future research are discussed at the end of the paper.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 고등학생의 대인불안이 부정적 정서에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자아존중감이 조절효과를 나타내는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도 지역 고등학생 390명(남: 209명, 여: 181명)을 대상으로 대인불안척도, 자아존중감 척도 및 부적 정서 척도를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 그리고 각 변인에 대한 상관분석 및 조절효과 검증을 위한 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대인불안과 부정적 정서는 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였고, 자아존중감은 대인불안 및 부정적 정서와 각각 유의미한 부적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 즉 대인불안이 높을수록 부정적 정서도 높아지고, 자아존중감이 낮을수록 대인불안 및 부정적 정서는 높아지는 것으로 나타냈다. 둘째, 대인불안이 부정적 정서에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 자아존중감의 조절효과가 있는지 알아본 결과, 남학생 집단은 자아존중감의 조절효과가 나타나지 않았으나 여학생 집단은 유의미한 결과가 나타났다. 즉 자아존중감이 높은 여학생은 자아존중감이 낮은 여학생에 비해 대인불안이 높아지더라도 부정적 정서가 크게 증가하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구 결과에 대한 제언을 덧붙였다.
