Polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs) are formed through the association of oppositely charged polymers in aqueous media. Since their structure is highly sensitive to ionic strength, PECs can undergo phase transitions from solid to liquid states, making them an intriguing platform for studying tunable material behavior. Coacervate represents one of the distinct phases, characterized by a dense, polymer-rich liquid formed through associative interactions. Coacervates exhibit liquid-like fluidity combined with pronounced viscoelasticity, distinguishing them from conventional polymer solutions or gels. Using polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride (PDADMAC) / polystyrene sulfonate (PSS) complex coacervates as a precursor, we fabricated charge-tunable and degradable wet-spun fibers. We investigated how the PDADMAC/PSS mixing ratio influences the net charge of wet-spun fibers and its subsequent impact on adsorption performance and mechanical properties of fibers. In addition, the behavior of PEC fibers in salt solutions was investigated to analyze their structural stability and the release amount of pre-adsorbed molecules.
