초기상담에서 상담자 경력별 공감정확도와 상담만족도: 임상 실제자료를 기반으로 한 내담자 지각을 중심으로 = Differences in Empathic Accuracy and Counseling Satisfaction across Counselor's Experience Levels in Early Counseling Phase

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 임상 실제 자료를 기반으로 하여, 내담자 지각을 중심으로 초기상담에서 상담자 경력에 따른 공감정확도와 상담만족도를 알아보고 이해하는데 목표가 있다. 연구 대상은 상담자와 내담자 32쌍으로 하였다. 상담자는 경력에 따라 초심, 중간, 숙련으로 구분하였고, 내담자는 초기상담(1회기∼3회기)을 앞두고 있고 약물을 복용할 정도의 심각한 병리적 문제가 아닌 일반적 호소 문제를 가진 내담자로 제한하였다. 이와 같은 조건을 만족한 32쌍의 각각의 상담사례를 1회기 전체 음성 녹음하여 Ickes의 공감정확도 측정 방법을 활용하여 공감정확도를 측정하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 공감정확도 측정 연구방법은 3단계로 첫째, 내담자가 자신의 생각이나 감정에 대해 인식하여 기록하는 단계, 둘째, 순간순간 기록된 내담자의 생각이나 감정을 상담자가 추측하는 단계, 셋째, 내담자가 자신의 생각이나 감정에 대해 상담자가 추측한 내용에 대하여 상담자의 공감정확도를 평정하는 단계이다. 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 첫째, 공감정확도와 내담자의 상담만족도는 정적상관(r=.39, p<.05)을 보였다. 둘째, 공감정확도는 초심 61.63%, 중간 72.47%, 숙련 83.57%의 값을 나타냈다. 셋째, 상담자 발달수준(KCLQ)의 하위영역 중 ‘상대대화기술’(r=.36, p<.05)과 ‘인간적태도’(r=.44, p<.05) 영역에서 공감정확도와 정적 상관을 보였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate mean differences in empathic accuracy and counseling satisfaction across counselor's experience levels in early counseling phases using empirical clinical data. A counseling session for thirty-two counselor-client pairs satisfying the selection criterion were recorded and counselor's empathic accuracy was measured and analyzed using the Empathic Accuracy Measure by Ickes. Findings in the current study revealed that an inexperienced, semi-experienced, and experienced counselor groups reported 61.63%, 72.47%, and 83.57% of empathic accuracy, respectively. Additionally, there was positive associated between a counselors' empathic accuracy and a clients' counseling satisfaction, r=.39, p<.05. Third, among sub-factors of the Korean Counselor Level Questionnaire, the counseling communication technique and humane attitude factors produced the positive relation with the empathic accuracy.
