학령기 아동을 위한 스틸 텅드럼의 연주법에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Steel Tongue Drum focused on the performing Technique for School-age Children

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대사회는 빠른 세계화 및 다양한 가치관이 존재하는 사회로 이런 변화에 대응하는 교육적 방법이 요구된다. 이러한 사회적 요구에 교육과정 또한 지속적으로 개정되고 있으며, 이는 음악 교과에서도 예외가 아니다. 특히, 인지와 표현 능력 등 폭발적 발달을 경험하는 학령기 아동은 가정에 머물렀던 관심을 학교와 또래 집단으로 넓히게 되는데, 이때 자유로운 감정 표현을 유도하고 즐거움과 흥미를 자극시키는 음악 교과가 중요하게 작용한다. 음악 교과는 학생들의 심리, 인지, 사회적 기술의 함양을 도와준다. 이때 학령기 학생들이 쉽게 접근 가능하고 연주를 통해 다양한 표현을 배울 수 있는 것이 바로 타악기이다.
이에 본 연구는 이론적 고찰과 스틸 텅드럼의 개념 이해를 위한 문헌 탐색을 기반으로 학령기 아동을 위한 타악기 수업 지도를 제안하기 위해 스틸 텅드럼을 이용한 커리큘럼을 구체적으로 제안하고자 하였다. 연구의 수행은 다음 절차를 따랐다. 첫째, 학령기 아동의 개념을 이해하고 발달 특성을 이해하였다. 둘째, 학령기 아동에게 적용 가능한 음악 활동을 파악하고 학령기 아동의 심리, 인지, 사회적 발달에서 음악 활동이 가지는 효과를 확인하였다. 셋째, 타악기 음악활동이 학령기 아동에게 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 넷째, 스틸 텅드럼의 개념을 이해하고 악기의 구조와 명칭, 연주기법을 파악하였다. 다섯째, 상기 문헌 고찰을 기반으로 학령기 아동을 위한 텅드럼 수업 지도방안을 제시하였다.
수업 프로그램은 총 10회기로 구성되며, 각 수업은 도입-전개-정리로 구성되었다. 연주 완성도를 높여 아동의 사회성과 정서 안정을 도모하는 자존감 형성시키고, 타인과의 융합 형성 활동을 통해 타인을 향한 배려를 학습하는 것을 수업 목표로 하였다. 전반기(1-2회기)는 선생님과 아동, 아동과 아동 간 친밀감을 형성하고 스틸 텅드럼에 대한 동기 부여를 형성한다. 중반기(3-8회기)에는 연주기법과 연주법에 대해 배우면서 다양한 곡을 연주한다. 후반기(9-10회기)에는 수업 소감 및 느낀 점 발표가 진행된다.
따라서 향후 음악 교과 과정에서 학교와 교사가 참고할 수 있는 타악기 활용 수업에 대한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 지닌다.

Contemporary society is full of diversity among cultures. In this era of globalization, education methodology is asked to respond rapidly to the social changes.In this situation, the Korean educational curriculum is constantly being revised, and the music subjects are no exception. Especially, school-age children who experience remarkable development in cognition and expressive ability expand their interests from home to school and their peer group. Music subjects are helpful by inducing honest emotional expression and by stimulating pleasure and interest. The music curriculum helps students develop psychological, cognitive, and social skills. At this time, percussion instruments allow school-age students to easily approach and to learn various expressions through playing.
This study aims to propose a curriculum using the steel tongue drum to suggest the percussion instrument instruction for school-age children based on theoretical considerations and literature search for understanding the concept of the steel tongue drum. Most of all, this dissertation studies the concept of school-age children and their developmental characteristics. Secondly, this project will argue that music activities are applicable to school-age children. I demonstrates the effect of music activities on psychological, cognitive, and social development of school-age children. Third, I will confirm the impact of percussion music activities on school-aged children. Fourth, in this dissertation, I will research the concept of the steel tongue drum, the structure, name, and playing technique of the instrument. Lastly, based on the above literature review, I will propose a method for teaching tongue drum lessons for school-aged children.
The program consists of a total of ten sessions. Each class consists of introduction, progression, and wrap-up. The goal of the class is to form self-esteem, to promote children's sociality and emotional stability, and to learn to care for others through activities with others. In the first period (sessions 1-2), intimacy between teachers and children and between children is formed, and motivation for the steel tongue drum is formed. In the middle period (sessions 3-8), various songs are played while learning about playing techniques of steel tongue drums. In the last period (sessions 9-10), class impressions and impressions are shared.
Therefore, it is meaningful that it can be used as basic data for lessons using percussion instruments that schools and teachers can refer to in the future music curriculum.
