국문 초록 (Abstract)

끌로드 드뷔시(Claude Debussy 1862-1918)는 19세기 말 후기 낭만주의와 현대음악의 과도기에서 자신만의 세련되고 독창적인 음악어법으로 '인상주의'라는 새로운 음악양식을 제시하고 발전시켰다.
드뷔시의 음악은 미술에서 시작된 인상주의와 상징주의 문학의 영향을 받았는데 인상주의는 단순히 자연의 묘사가 아니라 한번 마음에 자극된 내적인 인상을 주관적으로 표현한 것이고, 상징주의는 객관적인 분석에 의해 포착할 수 없는 주관적인 정서를 표현한 것이다.
이러한 인상주의와 상징주의의 영향으로 드뷔시의 음악은 매우 섬세하고 색채적이며 모호하다. 특히 이런 그의 음악적 특징은 프랑스의 예술가곡인 멜로디(melodies)에서 잘 나타나고 있다.
드뷔시는 멜로디에서 상징주의 시인들의 시를 가사로 채택했는데 본 논문의 연구대상인 <잃어버린 노래 Ariettes oubliees>는 상징주의의 대표적인 시인 베를렌느(Paul Verlaine 1844-1896)의 시집 <말없는 연가 Ramances sans paroles>에서 6편을 발췌하여 곡을 붙였다. 이 여섯편의 시는 베를렌느가 방황하던 여러 인상들을 묘사한 것으로 시인의 삶의 단면을 볼 수 있는데 그만큼 드뷔시는 섬세하게 곡을 붙였다.
드뷔시의 가곡 <Ariettes oubliees>는 시의 분위기와 내용에 맞게 음악이 변화된 만큼 연주자의 곡에 대한 충분한 이해와 풍부한 음악성을 필요로 하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

At the period of groping for the new music style in the peak of the Post-romantism in the end of the 19th, Claude Debussy(1862-1918) showed us that, so-called impressionism, by using his own polished and creative music expression.
The impressionism was begun in field of art and was rampant to music and literature. The impressionism art describes the nature in the micro-change of the color which is moving with the light. His music talent which was affected by the impressionism art was shown us clearly in the art songs.
We can see his music talent in art songs clearly. Debussy made the masterpiece in the field of French art songs, melodies, and showed us his sparks of genius by introducing characters of the impressionism art and symbolical poetry in the melodies.
He usually used symbolical poems at his works. He often made good use of the works of Paul Verlaine(1844-1896) in which we were able to feel his talents for music.
<Ariettes oubliees>, the research target of this paper, we made by selecting 6 songs in the poetry of Paul Verlaine. We were able to see a slice of his life.
As much as <Ariettes oubliees> changed in the mood of lyrics and poems, performers need the talent for music in order to understand his works.
