청소년복합외상경험이 초기성인기 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향 : 자기체계손상과 경험회피의 순차매개효과

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 청소년기에 복합외상경험이 있는 만18세부터 만 29세 성인을 대상으로 하 여 청소년 복합외상경험이 자기체계손상, 경험회피를 통해 초기성인기 대인관계문제에 미치 는 영향을 살펴보았다. Erickson(1995)가 제시한 초기성인기 20~40세 기준에서 다양한 환경의 연령층 유입에 연구결과에 영향으로 예상되어 만 18세~만29세 성인 남녀를 대상으로 설문조 사를 실시하였고, 이들 중 청소년기에 복합외상경험여부에 ‘아니오’라고 응답하고, 응답한 자 료에서 불성실한 응답이나 만 18세~만29세에 해당하지 않은 자료를 제외하여 초기성인기 남 녀 309명의 자료를 대상으로 초기성인 대인관계문제 연구를 위한 분석 자료로 사용하였다. 본 연구를 나타내는 결과를 간추려서 말하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년 복합외상경험, 자기 체계손상, 경험회피, 초기성인기 대인관계문제 간의 상호 연관성을 확인할 수 있는 상관관계 를 살펴본 결과, 모든 변인간의 정적으로 상관관계가 나타는 것으로 보인다. 이는 청소년기에 복합외상경험이 많을수록 자기체계손상이 심해지며, 경험회피 경향이 높아지고, 초기성인기 대인관계문제를 많이 경험하는 것을 의미한다. 둘째, 청소년 복합외상경험이 초기 성인기에 대인관계문제를 경험하며 간·직접적으로 영향을 미치는 것을 가설적 연구모형으로 검증한 결 과, 복합외상경험이 초기 성인기 대인관계문제에 정적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤으나 자기체계 손상은 정적으로 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고, 경험회피는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 셋째, 청소년 복합외상경험과 초기 성인기에 속한 대인관계문제에 간의 관계에서 자기체계손상과 경험회피의 순차적 이중매개효과를 검증한 결과, 자기체계손상과 경험회피 외 이중매개효과 는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 청소년기 복합외상을 경험하면 자기체계손상에는 영향을 주지만, 경험회피에는 영향을 받지 않으므로 초기성인기 대인관계문제가 유발되지 않 는다는 것을 의미한다. 주요어 : 청소년 복합외상경험, 초기성인기 대인관계문제, 자기체계손상, 경험회피

ABSTRACT

In this study, we examined the impact of complex trauma experiences during adolescence on interpersonal relationship issues in early adulthood among adults aged 18 to 29 who have experienced complex trauma. Following Erickson's (1995) criteria for early adulthood, defined as the age range of 20 to 40, and considering the influence of diverse age groups entering the study from various environments, we conducted a survey on individuals aged 18 to 29. Among them, those who responded 'No' to experiencing complex trauma during adolescence were included in the analysis for the study on early adulthood interpersonal relationship issues, after excluding dishonest responses and data not applicable to the age range of 18 to 29. The final sample for the analysis consisted of 309 men and women in early adulthood who did not report complex trauma experiences during adolescence. Firstly, an examination of the correlation between adolescent complex trauma experience, self-system damage, experiential avoidance, and interpersonal relationship issues in early adulthood revealed statically significant relationships among all variables. This indicates that a higher prevalence of complex trauma during adolescence is associated with more severe self-system damage, increased tendencies of experiential avoidance, and a higher likelihood of experiencing interpersonal relationship issues in early adulthood. Secondly, when testing the hypothetical research model regarding the direct and indirect impacts of adolescent complex trauma experiences on interpersonal relationship issues in early adulthood, it was found that complex trauma had a statically significant direct impact. However, self-system damage had a statically significant impact, while experiential avoidance did not show a significant influence. Thirdly, the examination of the sequential dual mediating effects of self-system damage and experiential avoidance in the relationship between adolescent complex trauma experiences and interpersonal relationship issues in early adulthood showed that these dual mediating effects were not statistically significant. This implies that while experiencing complex trauma during adolescence may influence self-system damage, it does not necessarily affect experiential avoidance, suggesting that interpersonal relationship issues in early adulthood may not be triggered by these factors.
