한국 텔레비전 드라마의 동시대 지형과 역사성

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study collects the data of Korean TV dramas that were broadcast in 2000s and analyzes characteristics of the form and content. By focusing on the common properties that each drama shares among others in the contemporary era, the study compared the data with those of the dramas in the past and examined the historical changes of Korean TV dramas. The analysis results showed that the characteristics of Korean TV dramas in the 2000s are the establishment of seasonal dramas, the convergence of formats, the preponderance to certain subject matter and the loss of meaning in idealsㆍorderㆍmoral values. Dramas in the 2000s are daily dramas, dramas on Monday and Tuesday, dramas on Wednesday and Thursday, weekend dramas, and weekly situational dramas. Drama format converged onto the mini-series format because the format could rapidly cope with the change in rating. As for subject matter, literary dramas, rural dramas, crime, investigation or mystery dramas had almost completely disappeared while love, family, home, and historical dramas continued to be preferred by viewers. Reality in expression was focused more than experiential reality, and the value of idealsㆍorderㆍmoral collapses, The commercial value of the dramas that had markedly increased since 1990s resulted in converging the direction of Korean TV dramas in the 2000s to the commercial purposes.
