도박성 스포츠 게임이 지역민의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향: 경남, 대구, 대전 지역을 중심으로 = The effects of gambling game on quality of life: focusing on Gyeongnam, Daegu, Daejeon in Korea

This study aimed to examine the relationship between gambling game related variables, quality
of life and leisure satisfactions. To put it concretely, First, we explored differences of
gambling game related variable(gambling experience, motive, pathological severity) and quality
of life(subjective well-being, psychological well-being, and social well-being) among
Gyeongnam, Daejeon, and Daegu in Korea. Second, we predicted quality of life(subjective
well-being, psychological well-being, social well-being) and leisure satisfaction from gambling
game related variables. Participants(Gyeongnam n=185, Daegu n=109, Daejeon n=136) completed
self-report measures of gambling game related variables, quality of life measures, and leisure
satisfactions. The results indicated that there were no differences in quality of life and leisure
satisfactions among three areas. But social reasons, money, and excitement motive scores were
the highest in Daegu area. Subjective well-being was predicted from pathological gambling
severity. As pathological gambling severity increased, subjective well-being became decreased.
Psychological well-being was predicted from experiences of gambling in sports and pathological
gambling severity. Gambling to make or obtain money was stronger predictors of social
well-being. Leisure satisfactions were predicted from gambling in order to escape or to cope
with problems, depression, or anxiety. Implications for gambling game in quality of life and
leisure satisfactions were discussed. Further studies were suggested.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 도박성 스포츠 게임 관련 변인들, 삶의 질, 여가만족도에서 경남, 대전, 대구 지역 간에
차이가 나는지 살펴보고, 도박성 스포츠 게임과 관련된 변인들과 삶의 질, 여가만족도간 상관을
지니는지 알아보기 위해서 이루어졌다. 또한 도박성 스포츠 게임관련 변인들 가운데 어떤 변인이
삶의 질과 여가만족도를 유의하게 설명해주는 변인인지 탐색하였다. 본 조사의 대상자는 성인이
었으며, 경남 185명(남자: 91명, 여자 94명), 대구 108명(남자: 43명, 여자 65명), 대전 136명(남자:
73명 여자 63명) 총 429명이 참여하였다. 참여자들은 도박성 스포츠 게임관련 변인들로 경험, 동
기, 도박 심각도, 주관적 안녕, 심리적 안녕, 사회적 안녕, 여가 만족도을 측정하는 질문지를 완성
하였다. 분석 결과, 지역 간 삶의 질과 여가만족도에는 차이가 없었으나 사교, 금전, 흥분 동기에
서 대구지역이 다른 지역보다 높았다. 삶의 질의 측정치 중 주관적 안녕을 설명하는 가장 중요한
변인은 도박의 심각도였고, 심리적 안녕은 도박성 스포츠 게임의 경험과 도박심각도로 잘 예측되
었다. 그리고 사회적 안녕은 금전동기가 유의한 예측변인이었고, 여가만족도는 기분전환동기로 유
의하게 예측되었다. 본 연구결과를 삶의 질의 관점에서 논의하고 본 연구의 제한점과 앞으로의
연구방향에 대해서 제안하였다.
