      The research of this thesis aims to examine the problems of the support system to serve to the multicultural families and to suggest the method to improve the system by the central government, the regional authorities, such as Do, Shi, and Gu, shi and Gun, and the regional offices of education, of Korea.
      The contents of this paper about the system to support the multicultural families include the concept of the Multicultural families, the present systems to support the family, and the problems thereof, and the discussions on the way to improve the present situations from a comprehensive point of view. The method to examine those matter is to analyze the literature on the field and to examine the essence of the support policies of the government and other authorities.
      I examine the present situations and problems of supporting system to the multicultural families, such as the following:
      First, in respect to the system of the departments of the government, I examine the present systems and policies of supporting the multicultural families and their problems of Ministry of Justice, Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affair, Ministry of Gender Equality, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
      Second, in respect to the regional authorities' systems, I examine the present systems and policies of supporting the multicultural families and their problems of Gyunggido, Chungchengnamdo, Jeonlanamdo, Jeonlabukdo, and Kyunsangnamdo.
      Third, in respect to the offices of education's systems, I examine the present systems and policies of supporting the multicultural families and their problems of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, Gwangju Metropolitan City Office of Education and Jeju Special Self-governing Provincial Office of Education, and suggest the methods of improvement.
      We must handle the needs for equality and the poverty. Through the study, I have come to the conclusion that, most of all, the thought and philosophy are required about the multicultural families based on fundamental principles before we discuss the systems of support.
      More concretely, first, we need to develop the short-term plan of each community in relation to the multicultural and multicultural families and to reflect it in the formal policies.
      Second, we are required to develop the middle and long term plan of the government, of the society, and regarding the education especially correlated with lifelong education.
      Third, the fundamental principles are required that are derived from the thought and the philosophy. For the purpose of them, we can refer to Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism which are the eastern thoughts, and Christian philosophy of education. And with them, we can understand the diversity of human beings all over the world, and realize that we should get along with each other.
