The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of PTSD and aggression on the relationship between childhood physical abuse and suicidal behavior among homeless people. One hundred one homeless people recruited from street and shelters in the community participated in the study. Participants completed the Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revised (SBQ-R), Life History of Aggression Questionnaire(LHAQ), Primary Care PTSD (PC-PTSD), and Traumatic Life Events Questionnaire (TLEQ). In separate analyses, PTSD symptoms and aggression fully mediated the relationship between childhood physical abuse and suicidal behavior among the homeless, respectively. These findings suggest that homeless people need clinical intervention for PTSD and aggression to reduce suicide risk among homeless people.
