Abstract
This study conducted a survey on the general characteristics of patients, gene
ral characteristics of physical therapists, environmental satisfaction of manual
therapy, and satisfaction with manual therapy for patients who received manu
al therapy in Busan Metropolitan City to identify important factors affecting th
e satisfaction of manual therapy in musculoskeletal manual therapy patients. B
ased on the collected results, technical statistics on the general characteristics
of patients and physical therapists, the manual therapy environment, and treat
ment satisfaction were presented, and Cronbach's α coefficient was calculate
d to verify the reliability between the questions. In addition, factor analysis an
d multiple regression analysis were conducted to identify the factors affecting - 65
the degree of satisfaction with manual therapy.
As a result of the old method, both the environmental satisfaction of manual
therapy (Cronbach's α=. 871) and manual therapy satisfaction (Cronbach's α=
.954) showed high reliability. Through factor analysis, it was classified into env
ironmental factors affecting manual therapy satisfaction, treatment equipment,
and treatment space, and was classified into therapeutic factor expertise and
appropriateness. As a result of multiple regression analysis, the factors that si
gnificantly influence the overall manual therapy satisfaction were appropriaten
ess (B= .355), expertise (B= .307), and treatment procedure (B= .137), and expl
anatory power was 73.4%.
These results imply the importance of securing the therapist's expertise and
smooth performance of treatment procedures to improve the quality of manual
treatment. This study can be used as basic data to improve patient satisfacti
on during manual treatment intervention for musculoskeletal patients. In the f
uture, follow-up studies are required to verify generalization by expanding var
ious research areas and subjects.
