숭의전 입지의 풍수환경과 해석 = The Location and Environment Analysis of Sunguijeon in the View of Feng shui

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, the location of Sunguijeon(崇義殿) that contains several meanings and purposes is examined, with the view of Feng shui. While the Sunguijeon was outwardly an ancestral shrine which kept ancestral tablets of Kings in the Korean dynasty, it internally had a political meaning for succession to the throne at that time. On the other hand it also reflects Confucian ideas by performing ancestral rites. The location of Sunguijeon was selected with no effort of seeking propitious site and seeking pertinent place to take a big memorial ceremony. It had a justification to keep ancestral tablet of King Wang-geon, and was built on a cliff nearby Imjin river which was almost a wilderness. Sunguijeon reflects the time and location of the architecture`s inner thoughts.
