    The school-age population is decreasing every year, and as a result, the education market itself is decreasing. The trend of employment recovery continues as the number of employed people in the Korean youth labor market has increased, but the youth unemployment rate is still high at 20%. In addition, in Korea, the college entrance rate of high school graduates is very high at 70%. However, they invest a lot of time and money in acquiring excessive qualifications due to desired jobs or differentiated competition after graduation.Accordingly, the Ministry of Employment and Labor introduced a field-oriented customized education and training system to meet the demand for industrial sites, resulting in various effects such as expanding new employees, resolving mismatches between field and education, and inducing long-term service. However, the application of beauty education is insufficient, and in particular, beauty education has a mismatch in manpower supply and demand due to mismatch between industrial sites and education, resulting in an increase in corporate retraining costs and inefficiency in job education. This study attempted to explore the current status of the work-learning parallel system and to analyze the characteristics and improvements of the work-learning parallel system in the general and beauty sectors to suggest ways to expand the introduction of the work-learning parallel system and boost students' participation.

    The results of this study are as follows.
    First, the work-learning parallel system was introduced in earnest in 2014 and the Industrial Field Work-learning Parallel Support Act took effect on August 28, 2020, providing "work-learning parallel national qualifications" to learning workers who have passed a certain level of learning, with 18,000 companies participating as of 2022. In addition, for the internalization and efficient operation of the work-learning parallel system, the "first work-learning parallel promotion plan ('21~'23)' was announced, and it is steadily implemented and changed to this day.
    Second, the work-learning parallel system is classified into six types, and there are single enterprise type, joint training center type, and P-TECH at the incumbent level, and there are industry-academia integrated apprenticeship school, vocational college student stage, and IPP type work-learning parallel. As of 2022, there are 70 joint training centers by type, 59 P-TEHCs, 143 industry-academia-integrated apprenticeships, 17 junior college students, and 35 IPP work-learning parallels, and by region, they are mainly active in the metropolitan area. This is because various promotional activities are actively underway as participating companies are also intensively distributed in the metropolitan area while continuing to expand support for work-learning parallels at the high school level.
    Third, three co-training centers, two P-TECH schools, nine industry-academia-integrated apprenticeship schools, four junior college students, and one IPP-type work-learning parallel are participating in the beauty field. Typically, Jeonnam Beauty High School, an industry-academic apprenticeship school, is well known for its introduction, operation plan, schedule, and activity photos, but Dongshin University, a representative example of IPP-type work-learning parallelism, had a lot of difficulty in finding various information. In general, apprenticeship schools were well known, but there were many limitations in finding information related to the university course, the stage of junior college students and IPP-type work-learning parallelism.

    As a result of analyzing the previous cases, the measures for effective grafting of the beauty field are as follows.
    First, in terms of class composition and operation, it is necessary to develop a training course and curriculum linked to work-learning parallel system and beauty education, and a field-specific curriculum that can be linked to field training (OJT) should be developed separately from the general curriculum during off-site training (Off-JT). In addition, NCS or work-learning parallel system-related subjects should be opened, and classes should be evenly mixed with theory and practice classes based on NCS or work-learning parallel system standards based on their major skills in the beauty field.
    Second, in terms of publication and promotion of manuals, the work-learning parallel system manual should be announced in detail on the website of each school and department to facilitate information access for companies and learning workers. In addition, a separate category of work-learning parallelism should be created on the website of each institution to provide detailed information on the work-learning parallelism system so that students and officials interested in it can easily access it. Moreover, various promotional activities such as interviews and best practices for trainees who have completed training in the field of beauty should be conducted so that many students can get various information. Furthermore, the beauty field should also participate in various events such as job market and booth operation to raise awareness of the work-learning parallel system and expand the scope of access opportunities for participants.

    Therefore, if the above measures are added to the existing manual, accessibility and efficiency of the beauty field will be expanded, leading to stable operation and spread of the work-learning parallel system beauty field, and it will be considered as basic data that can be effectively applied to the work-learning parallel system beauty field.
