김혜순 시의 “죽음” 이미지와 보편성의 문제 - 『죽음의 자서전』, 『날개환상통』을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 김혜순 시에 나타난 “죽음” 이미지의 다양한 특질들을 검토하면서, 그것이 불러일으키는 보편성의 문제를 존재론적 이행과 진리-사건의 차원에서 심층적으로 규명하고자 했다. 김혜순의 시에서 광범위하게 나타나는 “죽음” 이미지들은 생물학적 차원의 죽음으로 국한되는 것이 아니라, 복잡다단한 의미론적 계기들을 내장하고 있을뿐더러 의미심장한 사회정치적 의미들을 포함한다. 김혜순 시의 “죽음” 이미지들은 1) 여성성의 차원 2) 소수성의 차원 3) 창조성의 차원으로 구별되는 상이한 의미 영역들을 관통하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 이 영역들을 생산하는 예술적 사유의 태반인 동시에 이들을 암시적으로 비유하는 이미지의 중핵으로 기능한다.
이 논문은 세계적인 문학적 성취이자 문학사적 사건으로 기록될 수 있을 『죽음의 자서전』과 그 이후 발간된 시집 『날개환상통』에 나타난 “죽음” 이미지의 다양한 변주를 새롭게 발견하고 해석하는 데 초점을 두고자 했다. 이 시집들은 ‘한국/K-문학과 세계독자’라는 문제설정에 있어서 생생한 현장감을 전달할 수 있는 유력한 대상이자, 향후의 방향성을 좀 더 구체적인 차원에서 점검할 수 있게 해주는 탁월한 사례로 판단되었기 때문이다.
김혜순 시에 내재된 “죽음” 이미지의 복잡한 의미 맥락들을 규명하는 과정에서, 그것이 한국과 아시아라는 지역성의 한계를 가로질러 “인간 보편의 정서”를 형상화하면서 세계적인 영예와 사건의 자리를 이룰 수 있었던 요인과 배경 역시 충실하게 해명될 수 있을 것이다. 또한 이를 통해 한국시와 한국문학이 세계적인 보편성을 횡단할 수 있는 구체적인 방향성과 다양한 비전이 마련될 수 있기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article examines the various characteristics of the “death” images in Kim, Hye-soon"s poems, focusing on the issue of universality in terms of ontological transition and a truth-event. The "death" images, which are widely scattered in Kim, Hye-soon"s poems are not limited to biological death, but also contain complex semantic instruments and significant social-political implications. The "death" images in her poems not only penetrate different semantic domains that are distinguished by dimension of 1) femininity 2) minority 3) creativity, but also serve as the nucleus of images that implicitly express them.
Specially this article focused on discovering and interpreting the “death” images and diverse variations of those in the subsequent collection of poems, [Pain of Wing Fantasy] along with [Autobiography of Death] that could be recorded as a world-class literary achievement and a event of Korean literary history. They were considered to be a valid object through which a vivid sense of reality could be conveyed in setting the problem of "Korean/K-Literature and World Readers" and an excellent example that makes it possible to examine the next direction on a detailed level.
It is also believed that the factors and background in which “Death” images in her poems achieved global achievements by shaping “universal emotions of human" transcending the limits of locality as Korea and Asia poems, can be faithfully explained in the process of unravelling the complex semantic contexts of them. We hope that Korean poetry and Korean literature will be able to come up with specific directions and various visions to move toward the stage of globalization.
