구조화된 토론 안내의 제시가 온라인 토론 글에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Guiding Structured Discussion on the Quality of Online Discussion

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study intended to examine the effects of guiding the discussion by providing working examples of argumentation in the online environment. The participants of an online course of university were introduced the samples of structured discussion and were compared with the others who did not have any instruction. The quality of their discussion was analyzed from three aspects: relevance, logic, and evidence. The result showed that the treatment group achieved significantly better. The two aspects of logic and evidence were especially better than the control group. This result reflected that the provision of working examples for structured discussion can effect on the increase of logic and evidence-based argumentation. The study also analyzed the participants` ideas on why they felt the guidance helpful for them. They indicated that the examples were effective because they can guide the format and methods for writing, and they were helpful for systematic and concrete writing. These results explain that the structured discussion examples can be effective to increase the quality of online discussion, and imply that it can be used as a discussion tool for supporting the teaching role of an online instructor.
