부부의 성격특성이 결혼만족도에 미치는 자기효과와 상대방 효과 = Actor and Partner Effect of Couple's Personality on Marital Satisfaction

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was not only to investigate actor and partner effect of couple's personality on marital satisfaction but also to seek for strengthening the marital relationship and preventing divorce. Subjects of this study were 864 couples who have been married less than 14 years and have children attending education institution located in Seoul, Daegeon, Kwyongju, Busan, and Cheongju cities. Data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program and AMOS 7.0 program for the Actor and Partner Interdependent Model(APIM). The results of this study showed neuroticism of couples' personalities had a statistically meaningful actor effect and partner effect on both husband and wife's marital satisfaction. It also indicated that actor effect in both of them was stronger than partner effect. More especially, husband's personality of openness, extroversion, conscientiousness, and agreeableness had not only an actor effect on his marital satisfaction but also a partner effect on wife's marital satisfaction. However, wife's personality of openness, extroversion, conscientiousness, and agreeableness has an only actor effect on her marital satisfaction.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부부의 성격특성이 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향을 APIM 분석을 통하여 자기효과와 상대방효과를 검증하여 결혼생활의 강화와 이혼 예방의 방안을 모색하는 동시에 부부상담 현장에서 필요한 자료를 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구대상은 전국의 5개시에 있는 10개의 유아교육기관을 선정하여 유아교육기관에 다니는 자녀를 둔 결혼생활 14년 이하의 부부 824쌍을 대상으로 하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 12.0과 AMOS 7.0을 통하여 자기효과와 상대방효과의 상호작용 모델인 APIM 분석으로 자기효과와 상대방효과를 산출하였다. 본 연구의 결과 APIM 분석에서 남편과 아내 모두 신경증의 성격특성은 자기효과와 상대방효과가 유의미하였으며, 자기효과가 상대방효과보다 자신의 결혼만족도에 더 큰 영향을 주었다. 즉, 자신의 신경증적 성격특성은 자신뿐 아니라 배우자의 결혼만족도에도 동시에 영향을 미치고, 자신의 신경증적 성격특성이 상대방보다 자신의 결혼만족도에 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 개방성, 외향성, 성실성, 친화성의 경우 남편은 자기효과가 더 큰 것으로 나타났고, 아내의 경우에는 자기효과와 상대방효과가 동일하게 나타났다. 즉 남편의 결혼만족도에는 아내의 개방성, 외향성, 성실성, 친화성의 성격특성은 영향을 미치지 않은 반면 남편 자신의 성격특성만 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 아내의 결혼만족도는 아내와 남편의 개방성, 외향성, 성실성, 친화성 모두 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다.
