김정한 후기 소설 연구 = A Study On Kim Jung-han`s Late Novels

1960s and 1970s were the period when social, cultural and economic characters of Korean society were internalized and they have been maintained until now. Kim Jung Hwan stopped writing for twenty five years and returned to writing work with 「Sandy Plain Story」in 1966.
Therefore, this study aims to analyse his works of writing with a starting point of 「Sandy Plain Story」written in 1966.
Isolation and loneliness of characters in his novels were derived from forced transfer to modern period and oppression of main forces in politics. Farmers or lepers were excluded and oppressed in a changing society. The author accused of the social aspect of 1960s through spatial situation and behaviors of characters.
In late 1960s, political situation was oppressive and literary circles were oppressed as in occupation period of Japanese imperialism in 1930s and no author did not dare to accuse of distorted reality as the government was governed by military despotism. When authors in 1960s and early 1970s accepted distorted reality uncritically, Kim Jung Han attempted to change the society by standing against it. This is the different point from those of the novels by other authors.
His novels published after the「Sandy Plain Story」presents directions for how authors should correspond to reality and what responsibility and duty they should have.
Therefore, this study examines what Korean society were like in 1960s and 1970s and what modern aspects Korea had at that time in his novels.
